'Okay then': Boss takes employee off big project and puts it into incompetent hands, malicious compliance ensues

Sometimes, you know what's best, but your entitled boss simply doesn't. When you find yourself in that scenario, you are faced with two options: 1) you can face your boss head-on and fight it (not worth it); or 2) you can sit back, relax, and watch this disaster unfold.

This thread was posted to Reddit's r/MaliciousCompliance subreddit by u/staterho, who shared that their boss was threatened by how on top of things they were and wanted to take the original poster off of the upcoming big Holiday project. The trouble is that the person who was then put on the project, Amy, was ill-equipped to handle all of the moving parts. In fairness, it's not Amy's fault that she wasn't capable of handling this. It wasn't within her job description, whereas the Redditor knew exactly how to get it done and get it done well. But alas, their boss was insistent, and so the Redditor chose to comply knowing it was all going to go horribly wrong. Keep scrolling below to learn about the fallout. For more, here's another post about a boss who tried to ban yoga pants.
