'No, absolutely not': Boss losses their cool when employees abuse 'water privilege''

The audacity of some people to want to remain adequately hydrated.

Don't they know? The first rule of the cashier's code is that you must remain thirsty at all times. We're talking parched here — not even an ounce of liquid or spit remaining that could accidentally flick onto a customer's face. But, after a cashier betrayed this sacred code, their boss was forced to instate a ban on all water sipping due to their abuse of "water privilege."

That's insane… right? It begs the question of why some workplaces insist on treating their workers like children. Some organizations have policies put in place as if they're running a daycare, and management attitudes reflect the same frame of mind. Things like limitations on the time or frequency of bathroom breaks and "water privileges" are sure signs that you're not going to enjoy your time there.

This thread was posted to Reddit's r/antiwork subreddit, and the worker shared their toxic workplace experience. Reactions were exactly in line with what you might have expected, and the workers were quick to condemn the manager's attitude.

Keep reading for the screenshots. For more, check out this insane sign that was posted to limit employee bathroom breaks.
