‘I Know the Policy but I Want the Discount Anyway’ : Entitled Customer V.S Stubborn Employee Who Is Miserably Just Doing His Job

Why people insist on purposely doing the opposite of an establishment's policy will always be a mystery to me. It's like people wake up, and say to themselves 'Hmmm, today I seek to be deliberately rude to an employee, just because I don't agree with the way things are done at his workplace'. For example, if you know that you only get a discount by telephone, then why try and cheat the system? It would take exactly five seconds to make the call and get the discount.

But nooooo, you must enter the said establishment, patronize the poor employee who definitely doesn't give two hoots about the place but needs to pay his rent somehow, and then be purposely unhelpful. Who cares if the policy is dumb or illogical? We're all grown-ups here, deal with it. Below you will find an infuriating Reddit post, written by someone who has obviously not worked in customer service a day in his life. Someone who believes that we employees, make the rules. Well, think again… Because we certainly didn't wake up today and think to ourselves 'Hmmm, how can we inconvenience our customers today?'.

Bitter people be bitter.
