LinkedIn is basically a platform where grown-ups go to brag, and it doesn't sound as stupid as those Facebook 'I am thrilled to announce that I recently graduated (with honors!) from the Elite Rainbow Unicorn Ivy League School (that celebrities keep talking about LOL). The experience was spiritually eye-opening and allowed me to demonstrate my flexibility and willingness to cover up how much my parents paid the school to accept me. I'd also like to give my best friend, the Dean's daughter, a big shoutout for her (kind of snarky) words of encouragement throughout…' posts. Except you and I both know that it kind of does. And it's extra stupid, precisely because it is disguised as 'not stupid'.
To be indelicately candid, I can't stand LinkedIn. Every time I scroll through it, I roll my eyes so much that at this point they're basically at the back of my head. I can see some of the pros, obviously. For example, it's a great way to expand your social network, find a job, and develop your career… yada yada. But it's also the perfect platform to brag and say stupid crap. There is absolutely no shortage of either. Sometimes, when I'm really bored and other social platforms kind of lack content, I go to Linkedin to stay entertained. Also, thank goodness Reddit exists because there is a beautiful subreddit designed specifically for this kind of BS. Scroll down and check it out!
P.S : Have a look at this totally unrelated but funny post about a woman who clapped back at a rude dude who thought she was just a little girl.
