Sometimes, malicious compliance can have delicious results! This thread, which was posted to Reddit's r/MaliciousCompliance subreddit by u/Ok-Fishing-6604, represents another story in which a horrible boss flipped out as a result of her own poor leadership.
A few Thanksgivings ago, the Redditor was a college student working at a grocery store. She stayed behind and worked late one night at her manager's request to handle all the upcoming pie orders. The problem was that when the original poster asked her manager exactly how many to bake, the boss rolled her eyes and made some obnoxious comment about how the Redditor should just keep baking until she showed up. And if that's not a recipe for malicious compliance, I don't know what is! At the end of the day, 400 pies were baked (there were only 100 orders as it turns out), and the Redditor couldn't get in any real trouble because, well, she was just doing what she had been told to do. The bonus was that all her coworkers got to take home extra pies for the holidays. Like I said, sometimes malicious compliance can have delicious results.
