After his daughter decided to drop out of college and move in with her boyfriend, this father made the choice to use the rest of the tuition money he set aside for her on the remodeling of his kitchen. When his daughter's relationship inevitably fell apart and she expressed a desire to go back to school, the money was gone.
This thread was posted to Reddit's r/AmITheA**hole subreddit by u/Particular-Bar9216, who turned to the judges of the AITA community online to seek approval for what was clearly a messed up decision. At first, people in the comments section were receptive to what this guy did. After all, his daughter made a terrible mistake in putting her entire future in the hands of her boyfriend. However, her father seemed relieved to be able to spend this money and was less interested in ensuring that his daughter would be okay if the relationship were to fail (which it obviously did). Sure, the daughter learned an "expensive lesson," as one comment below pointed out, but the dad's quick choice to spend all that money says a lot about the kind of parent he is. Thankfully, he's not my dad.
