This is not the cheating scandal this Redditor clearly thinks it is!
This student's friend failed a math test before a big trip he and his friend group had been planning. Because of the bad performance, the kid's parents would not let him go on vacation. The student asked the Redditor if he would be willing to swap the front page of their copies of the tests so his parents would think he got a B+ and not an F. Not a good idea to lie to your parents about something that will inevitably come out. Still, though, the Redditor initially said yes but then decided to reverse his decision a mere two days before the group trip by calling his friend's parents directly.
This thread was posted to Reddit's r/AmITheA**hole subreddit by u/Stephan2008, who tried to mask a sense of guilt about the lie. Redditors in the comments were quick to point out, however, that the original poster was contributing to a lie that only affected his friend and his family. This wasn't a school cheating scandal; the grades had been recorded and delivered. This was a family matter, and when the Redditor changed his mind, he should have at least given his friend the opportunity to come clean to his parents on his own.
