Boyfriend's Parents Lose Their Minds, Offended Over Being Served Pizza After Dropping by For Dinner Unannounced

What in the pepperoni gorgonzola is this? Taking offense to pizza? There's only one situation in which you should take offense to being served pizza, and that's when it has pineapple on it. Do Italians really get offended about being served pizza? That's like an American getting offended over a hamburger or an Englishman throwing his toys over a being handed a plate of bangers and mash.

The audacity of these people… Who decides to "stop by" for dinner? Only then to be offended by what is on offer. Commenters suggested that the parents would have found something to get offended about no matter what was served, which looks pretty likely.

Having guests over for dinner can be an absolute delight and is one of the cornerstones of fostering adult friendships. Still, cooking a full meal for others can be burdensome, so it isn't polite to turn up uninvited expecting a meal; That is unless you're a company of dwarves planning an expedition to retake your ancestral homeland from a dragon. Even if Bilbo had served Thorin and company some pizzas, he would have been perfectly justified in doing so.
