Everyone has had an experience with a crazy, vaguely threatening manager. But not everyone has had this one. This thread was posted on Reddit's r/antiwork subreddit by u/Mattias504, who shared his story of how his new manager at the local dive bar where he works suddenly decided to "clean house" by firing everyone and making them interview again in order to retain their jobs.
This sounds like someone who has been waiting his whole life to have the opportunity to be a literal dictator. Not only is it completely unfair to make everyone "re-interview" for the jobs they already had, but what an insane way to test loyalty by immediately putting everyone's job on the line.
u/Mattias504 also included a list of work-related demands by the manager that seem a bit hypocritical, to put it lightly. "No being stoned at work (managers excluded bc we can handle it, sorry)." I mean, you gotta hand it to him. The man has some audacity! We're particularly obsessed with the fact that this caveat was included in what seems to be a staff-wide email. Audacity AND professionalism! What a guy!
There will always be stories about crazy managers. This college student ghosted his one after his school commitments were completely belittled and disregarded.
