If you find yourself holding a phone number that's one digit off of a high traffic number like a dentist's office or restaurant, it's understandable to become frustrated when people keep blowing up your phone demanding root canals and mu shu pork. Messing with someone who made an honest mistake isn't terrifically moral, but if you inform that caller of their mistake and they respond by insisting you deliver them their so-desperately desired molar filling/dumpling filling, then whatever happens next is totally on them.
They say the definition of insanity is when you do the same thing expecting different results. And this one seems to fit the bill. He could have just listened to what the person on the other line was explicitly telling him, but no dice.
This story prompted other people to share their own wrong dumb caller stories. And all we can really say about them is, good thing they never had to meet in person.
