Nothing says 'I'm insecure' more than critiquing the appearance of your significant other. It's just not cool. It's not cool when men do it, it's not cool when women do it, just don't do it, okay? In this particular instance we have no sympathy whatsoever for OP, who wanted his wife to 'look her best' for his office Christmas party. She doesn't usually wear contacts for other special occasions, only for skiing and other sporting activitivie. So why would she go out of her way to be uncomfortable just so her insecure husband will feel like he is presenting the most attractive version of his wife to his coworkers? We are not about it, not one bit.
