Love will make people pull some crazy shit, but honestly, some of these twisted tales fell so far outside the bounds of rationality they read more like intentionally emotionally-heightened, horror short story love saga segments. Also, if there's one thing we can all take away from these harrowing little tales, it's that it's worthwhile to change those locks during a breakup. Just do it.
