Tragic Irony of the Day: BBC Reporter Gets Harassed on the Street While Doing a Story on Street Harassment

In what is a sad view of the state of reality, BBC reporter Sarah Teale was instantly harassed on the street when she finished her introduction about street harassment.

The BBC followed up with the reporter after the incident:

The East Midlands Today reporter said she was "genuinely shocked" by what the man said.

She said: "It's not banter, it's not funny and no-one should have to put up with it."

The TV presenter said it was good people were now talking about the issue but said claims the video was staged were "absolute nonsense".

She said: "It's fairly obvious from my reaction that it wasn't staged.

"If it is a craze it doesn't make it any less offensive."

Attention to this subject has been on the rise the last year or so, especially after a video of a woman walking down the street alone, receiving multiple cat calls, went viral.
