Fresh Job Jokes For Your Beginning of the Work Week Woes

It's a new dawn, it's a new day, it's a new dreary work week.

That's right. If you have the luxury of a long weekend (some of us do not), good for you. But if you're like the rest of us, it's just another magic Monday, minus the magical part. These work memes and tweets were sourced from @humorous_resources, @corporate_millennial_memes, and @nastonius. If you have to go into the office today and you're still trying to figure out why we only get a two-day weekend in this corporate culture we're living in, please know that your angsty, antiwork sentiments are welcome here. Who knows? Maybe the self-deprecating, "you gotta laugh at it" way of thinking will make your start to the work week ever so slightly more bearable. Or at least, ever so slightly more amusing.

'Cashier instantly starts yelling at me': Crazy cashier curses out customer, caller her a 'Karen' after messing up her order

We often talk about Karens unleashing their wrath upon underserving workers who are just trying to make rent this month, but what happens when that shoe is on the other foot? What about the stories where the customer is just trying to make a reasonable request and gets verbally body-slammed by the employee?

It's always important to remember that both can happen and that there are two sides to every story; The truth is (usually) wedged somewhere in between.

If we'd seen the cashier telling this story online, we'd probably be reading some posts about how a Karen came at them, complaining about her pizza, making a scene, and refusing to leave. But, from this version of the story, it's pretty clear that the cashier was in the wrong for flying off the handle -no matter what had been said previously. It's hard to imagine talking to anyone like that, customer or not. I can see where it might be a catch-22 for the cashier if they were unable to refund the money (and would get in trouble if they did), but that still doesn't excuse their reaction.

Read on to see this story as originally posted to Reddit's r/TalesFromTheCustomer subreddit.

For some people actually being Karens, check out this mother who decided that her children were the exception and tried to bring them to a "no children allowed" audio recording.

20 Entitled 'Karens' Imposing Their Stupid Wrath Upon the World

There's no shortage of 'Karens out there in the world today. It seems like everywhere you turn, anywhere you go, or every time you boot up a social app, there's some older woman with cropped hair giving some poor random person or employee the "What-For."

Why is this happening? Has it always been like this? Have Karens always been out there in the world, and smartphones have finally just exposed them? Or is there really just an increasing number of entitled a-holes out there?

I don't think there's one singular answer here, and it's likely a combination of all of these. But, whatever the reason, we've gathered here a collection of wild Karens imposing their stupid wrath upon the world for your eyes to absorb.

For more entitled people out there in the world, check out these 10 entitled people who rode a big stupid wave of arrogance.

Most Delusional People this Week on Craigslist : Ask For Deliriously Funny Amounts of Money for Old, Weird or Crazy Items

Reddit is getting too confident in its ability to suck you into its deepest, darkest rabbit holes of information (similar to a vortex) and we are here for it. If you haven't visited the subreddit 'r/delusionalcraigslist' yet, boy are you in for a ride… It's no secret that people can be batshit crazy, and Craigslist has earned its questionable reputation by becoming a feeding platform for the deranged and neurotic - but it is also incredibly useful for those searching for items at a good price, as well as for those who are looking to sell items at said good prices. What can you do, the crazies infiltrate everything at the end of the day, and Craigslist is no exception. The platform has some wicked funny people on there, and we're blessed enough that some folk upload the most hilarious things they encounter on there to Reddit. Without further ado, you are welcome to scroll down and guffaw at some of the best.

'He showed me texts between him and my son's therapist': 14-year-old's therapist sends private info to evil stepdad

Imagine your own therapist texting private info to your stepdad behind your back...

This thread was posted to Reddit's r/AmiTheA**hole subreddit by u/Salinasjr36, who shared this anecdote about his 14-year-old son. His son's dog recently died and the death was so tough on him that his father signed him up for therapy. A few weeks later, his son was punished by his stepdad for badmouthing him to his therapist. When the Redditor confronted the stepdad about it, he learned that the therapist and stepdad had been exchanging text messages.

Despite everyone else (including his wife and ex-wife) being annoyed by the Redditor's actions, those in the comments section seem to be in agreement that reporting the therapist is the right way to go. There's absolutely no evidence that the boy was in danger or exhibiting truly worrisome behavior that would require notifying a parent, and even if he was, the kid's biological parents should be the ones who are contacted. No excuse there, sir. This story only makes me intensely paranoid about my therapist…

Trucking Company Takes Clients Own Advice and Fires Them After Calling Their Bluff

"Why don't you just fire us then." is an empty threat that you should never make, somewhere along the lines of "If you don't do this I quit" or "Why don't you just leave if you don't like it." When one makes such threats they're saying it thinking they're in a position of power.

It's a power move and manipulation tactic to force a subordinate (or someone you otherwise have power over) into reluctantly accepting whatever terms you are proposing. By giving them an "out", the person in power is psychologically manipulating them into resigning and becoming complicit with the power-wielders wishes.

So, when this trucking company had it suggested to them, by the client themselves, that they should fire the client, it triggered a reflection that caused the trucking company to realize that they'd rather not service this client any longer.

Stepmom Refuses To Admit That Her Stepson Does Not Want Her To Adopt Him

You would think at a certain point this woman would get the picture, right? Wrong!

This thread was posted to Reddit's r/AmITheA**hole subreddit by u/LostConstruction492, who opened up about his Mom's death when he was 6 years old. By the time he was 8, his new stepmother Ana was already trying to adopt him. The judge believed the Redditor when he said he did not want to be adopted. They tried again and again and again. 11 years later and she is still handing him adoption papers to try to formalize the process.

So what can the Redditor do in this situation? Some folks in the comments suggested he should change his last name to his late mother's maiden name to really send a message. That's one option, though we're not sure how well that would go down with the rest of the family. Regardless, what does the Redditor owe them anyway? They are clearly not on his side here, especially his lame father who has been literally zero help. Our advice is for the Redditor to cut this woman out of his life as soon as he can. Keep scrolling below for the full post and the best/funniest comments!

'He's got a pay stub for about 15 paychecks': Manager takes down company that is shorting his workers on overtime

It's startling how many people out there are unaware of the legalities surrounding operating a business, both workers and owners alike. One tends to imagine, idealistically, that in order to run, operate, or manage a business you'd have to have some awareness of what the regulations and laws of employment are.

Unfortunately, when you get out into the workforce, it soon becomes brutally clear that the managers and regional managers aren't actually being selected based on their business acumen, sense of justice, ability, or knowledge base. Usually, these qualities fall far below other desired traits… like not asking questions and a willingness to exploit the subordinates that are to be placed under you.

It's a brutal world out there, and it's nice to see the tables turned when the chance presents itself. Keep reading to see the screenshots of this tale of revenge that was posted to Reddit's r/ProRevenge subreddit by Reddit user u/onaplinth.

Funniest Random Starter Packs From This Week on Reddit That Actually Make Sense

How were stereotypes born? Well, before we get to that, let's test out some stereotypes for ourselves, and perhaps our automatic response will suffice by providing the answer for us. We'll begin with an easy example that comes to mind. Girls - Feminine, pink, warm-hearted, high voice. Boys - Masculine, blue, tough, low voice. Psychological findings have proposed that as people observe a group of people that are normally overrepresented in certain roles (for example, girl's as warm and kind-hearted, and boy's as tough and assertive), they come to the conclusion that the traits that appear in these 'roles' belong to the whole entire group. In the society we live in, people tend to make judgments about others, and what better place to do so than the internet? There are certain stereotypes that we unconsciously stick to, and that we are inclined to have preconceived opinions about. Sometimes they're bad, racist, and unkind. Other times, stereotypes can be ridiculously funny. We've been scouring Reddit for the funny and harmless kind. Good news - we've stumbled upon (in our humble opinion) the best of the best, so go ahead and enjoy judging!

Comedian recounts story of when she was a bartender and epically shutdown some entitled customers, just to shamefully realize they were in the right

As a bartender, it is your right—nah, your duty!—to put entitled customers back in their place and not play their frustrating immature game. However, you should always be SURE that they are truly just being privileged spoiled folk and haven't actually been the victim of a real mistake you've made…

'She said a lot of stuff...but I, well, just don't care?': Woman asked to financially support her brother's ex-wife despite barely knowing her

This woman learned from her parents that her brother, with whom she has a contentious relationship, to put it mildly, is going through a divorce. Not only that, but now his soon-to-be ex-wife has already reached out to her for money.

This thread was posted to Reddit's r/AmITheA**hole subreddit by u/AmIHerSister, who shared that she and her sister-in-law barely even knew each other. They only had polite interactions and rarely hung out (the Redditor's husband wasn't even invited to the wedding!). But what really set the Redditor off (and upset people in the comments section as well) was that her sister-in-law co-opted the "women support other women" rhetoric and applied it to this situation. It's a tough argument to make when the sister-in-law never extended that same courtesy herself to the Redditor. Additionally, the Redditor made it clear that she's not swimming in superfluous money and has her own family to take care of.

Elon Musk Supports Russia's Invasion of the Ukraine With Outdated Evidence, Gets Called Out By Experts and Enraged Commenters

Survey data from 10 years ago isn't exactly relevant

'Coworker told me that the reason I got a promotion was because of my breast size': Guy can't handle woman's response after making inappropriate workplace comments

There are just some things that should never be uttered out loud; heck, even thinking them is bad karma. Passing comments on any stranger's physical traits is one of these things that should never be done, especially if that person is someone who you have a professional relationship with… and ESPECIALLY if those comments have a sexual connotation. If you somehow manage to make all these mistakes at once, you're practically begging for a conversation with HR followed by a swift escort from the building.

This really should all go without saying; it's not even a conversation we should still need to have.

Reddit user u/Oaks20173 was faced with such a comment when her coworker claimed (to her face) that she had received a promotion because of her breast size. She responded with a quick retort that most of us would only think about in the shower hours later, "And the reason you got a demotion was because of your brain size!!!" she reports saying.

The coworker couldn't hack it and has been sulking ever since. Commenters in the thread, which was posted to Reddit's r/AITA (Am I the A**hole) subreddit earlier this week, are encouraging the poster to take the issue to HR before she loses the chance.

Keep reading to see screenshots of the thread and the reactions to it below.

Funniest Memes About Dating App Fails We Saw This Week

Dating apps are kind of like the wild wild west. Sure, there are some completely normal people who use them, but you will always be able to find your fair share of insane people. But maybe we kind of like the selection. Sometimes seeing someone who is terribly obnoxious makes us feel a little better about ourselves. After all, looking at beautiful people all day cannot be 100% good for you, especially if you aren't able to match with any of them. Then again, we've heard that the apps take track of who swipes right on you and they basically can make an assumption about how hot you are. Its that a bit humbling? Depends on what your feed looks like we guess.

Anyway, if you're amazingly gorgeous and you never have the luxury of seeing creepy profiles, well, today is your lucky day. Let's get into the dating app fail memes.

The Most Bizarre Sign Fails This Week (October 7, 2022)

Sometimes, you have to wonder if these are actually mistakes or if whoever made these signs is the biggest troll of all. These fails were compiled from Reddit's r/funnysigns subreddit, and they just go to show that as long as there are signs in the world, there will always be a few fails to accompany them. Whether it's neon lights that don't work and create an unfortunate alternate reading or a sign's poor misplacement or just straight-up ironic signs, sign fails clearly come in all shapes, forms, and sizes. The Most Rootinest Tootinest Yee-Haw Memes of the Week for All the Funniest Cowboys and Cowgirls Out There (October 7, 2022)

The cowboy sits alone in a dark cornfield deep in thought: "How do I keep having more and more of the most rootinest tootinest yee-haw memes every week?" Me. I'm the cowboy. I ain't complainin' though! Heck, I'd take a good yee-haw meme any day of the week. It' what keeps me up before the cockadoodledoo of the cock each mornin'! I hope you life isn't feeling lawless these days, I believe in you. It's important for a cowboy to be rootin, to be tootin, but most importantly, to be kind. Sometimes it's just important to be a cowboy who got out of bed that day. I'm proud of all y'all cowboys and cowgirls out there! I hope you get a good 'ole fashion kick out of these yee-haw memes I bring to your internet every week. I reckon I have a good 'ole wholesome time finding them. I come across 'em all week and can't wait to feed 'em to ya like my favorite mare!

Cheating Dude Brings Pregnant Young Mistress to Thanksgiving, His Daughter Refuses to Come

Not only did this guy cheat on his wife and get his mistress pregnant - which led to his wife leaving him and the mistress moving in pretty much immediately - but he also had the nerve to bring his pregnant mistress to Thanksgiving soon afterward. This dude needs to learn the meaning of taking baby steps. His daughter, who is one year older than the mistress, has wisely decided to back out of attending the meal.

This thread was posted to Reddit's r/TrueOffMyChest subreddit by u/North_Selection1440, the brother of the cheating husband in question. One would think the mistress would feel uncomfortable coming to a family event so soon after all the drama. Also, the fact that she is literally half his age and even younger than her future daughter-in-law gives major Linda Cardellini in Legally Blonde vibes.

Redditors in the comment section clearly felt compelled to share their crazy Thanksgiving and Holiday family event stories. One pregnant woman found out her husband had another pregnant wife during her meal. Yikes! 'This job pays $200 a week': Hilarious viral babysitter ad requires a Master's Degree among other insane things

There's nothing that guarantees failure like setting unrealistic expectations. Anytime you expect too much of anything you're dooming yourself to be unhappy with whatever the outcome is.

'My mom loved her as a daughter': Son bans grieving mother from wedding to new bride after she asks him to invite his late wife's parents

This guy is something else. It's clear that this mother has been having trouble moving on from the death of her beloved daughter-in-law, the two of them had a close connection, and she had truly "loved her as her own daughter." It's completely understandable to hang on to the memory of loved ones who have been lost -not that her son seems to be. The cold and callous way in which he refers to his deceased bride is startling and the first thing that stood out to me in this post.

Sure, maybe the mother has overreached and overstepped with the way that she keeps commenting on her son's new relationship and comparing it to her dead daughter-in-law. But am I really the only one who thinks that the son needs to own a big part of her continued grieving? It doesn't sound like he has handled the situation in a way that has really allowed his mother to move past it and it really doesn't sound like he processed the situation well himself.

The fact that he completely cut his wife's parents out of his life after her passing really is raising some red flags too. Either his previous marriage was strained, or this guy is a total a**hole. His responses in the comments make me pretty certain that it's the latter. I can't imagine cutting my partner's parents out of my life if something were to happen to her.

How did his previous wife die? This is taking it too far - I know. But I'm now wondering if her death was under suspicious circumstances and if his late wife's life insurance is funding this massive wedding he's planning for his new and "better" bride.

Really hard to believe that Reddit voted "NTA" on this one. What a colossal a-hole.

Male Karen Throws Coffee in Waiter's Face and Demands That They Fire This 'Ignorant Useless Server'

With all the Karen content on the Internet, we forget that Dads are just as easily disagreeable. This entitled Dad recounted a story of how he was so upset with the fact that his espresso came in a paper cup rather than a mug… so upset that he literally threw his hot coffee at the server.

It gets worse. He later told his son this story and was genuinely proud of every detail, as if he stood up to the "man" or something. Really, he's lucky he didn't get charged with assault or anything like that. The son posted this thread and shared it with the community of Reddit's r/EntitledPeople subreddit. He is fully aware that his father can be the literal worst. We hope that the Redditor and his mother call this dude out on his entitlement. There's no way this guy is ever going to change if the closest people in his life don't start confronting him directly. Keep scrolling below for the full story!

Truck Driver Gets Scammed Out of $2000 By Fake Rich Guy in Vegas, Shares Their Story

This is one of those lessons that is incredibly brutal to learn firsthand. It's almost biblical in a way; a wary and weary traveler is hailed by a stranger who claims to have suffered some misfortune. Will they help out? Will they give them the shirt off their own back? Except in this story, the stranger doesn't magically transform into a beautiful woman or a bearded old man and bestow riches upon them for their heart of gold. Nah, this is Vegas, baby - that stranger is going to strangle you with your own shirt the moment your back is turned.

The thing I really like about the story is that the storyteller is more than willing, to be honest about the thought processes that lead them to their downfall. People often make themselves the infallible heroes of their own stories who were wronged by outside forces that were entirely out of their control. No - this guy lays it out for us step by erroneous step; he even admits to being blinded by the idea of coming out on top of the exchange, imagining selling the jewelry and watch for an enormous profit later on. He was blinded by greed, as he himself puts it -and being able to admit that is admirable.

The other thing I really liked about this thread was that he included photos of the fake Rolex and jewelry to back up and add legitimacy to his story.

Sorry, in this one the scammer doesn't get their just desserts… Keep reading to see screenshots of this thread, which was shared to r/TIFU by Reddit user u/PokerOTR after their tragic error.

Twitter Thread: Nintendo Drops the First Look at 'The Super Mario Bros. Movie' Here Some of the First Takes (October 7, 2022)

In case you missed it, in the last hour, Nintendo has finally slid the curtain back on the Super Mario Bros. Movie by releasing a teaser trailer that totaled 2:29 in length. This small glimpse has (predictably) caused an explosion of reactions on Twitter, where the movie has been hotly anticipated.

There has been much debate on the platform surrounding the direction the movie will take, which took a worrying turn when the movie's eclectic voice-acting cast was unveiled. Fans were concerned with how Jack Black might sound as Bowser. They wondered how his trademark sing-song voice might come across as the King of the Koopas -and WOW. As far as we can tell from the trailer, Jack will carry this film hard. Bowser is spot on what a lot of us had always imagined in our heads for the character.

Mario… Maybe not so much. After a stunning opening that shows Bowser laying siege to a Fortress, the trailer swaps to Mario, voiced by Chris Pratt (…he's so cool), bouncing out of a pipe. As Mario opens his mouth, it becomes abundantly clear that Chris has (yet again) smashed it out of the park by using nothing more than his normal-ass speaking voice.

Scroll through to see some of these early reactions. It will be interesting to see how the consensus develops over the coming days. I'm betting we see Jack Black's part being lauded and Chris's lambasted.

Creepy Dude Gets Caught Spying on His Girlfriend While She Watches His Apartment

The guy set up a literal camera in his living room to spy on his girlfriend while she did him the favor of watching over his apartment because he was out of town.

This thread was posted to Reddit's r/AmITheButtface subreddit by u/b_ttercup, who shared what happened to her two friends. Although their relationship was largely under wraps, they had been seeing each other for 8-9 months and one partner confided in the Redditor about it. Not long after, the girlfriend discovered the hidden camera while she was housesitting for her boyfriend and frantically called the Redditor.

Now, most of the people in their friend group (including the girlfriend) have forgiven this guy, but the original poster remains completely grossed out by his actions. Our hot take on this is that while she can't necessarily fault her friends for forgiving him, the reality is she owes this guy nothing. If she has no desire to have a friend like that in her life, that's totally her decision. Personally, I'd cut this guy off.

We've seen plenty of stories about relationship drama lately. Like this one, in which a guy fed his gluten-free girlfriend regular pizza. Keep scrolling below for the original post!

Top Trending Laughable Work Moments This Week (October 6, 2022)

Ah, corporate culture. Can't live with it, can't live without…well, couldn't we?

These top trending laughable corporate culture moments this week, which were compiled from Reddit's r/antiwork subreddit, may range in subject matter but at the end of the day, they all boil down to one inevitable question: why is the workplace still like this? From forcing employees not to discuss their wages/salaries to organizing tone-deaf mental health day activities, corporations really are incapable of being anything but annoying.

Take a look at these ridiculous examples below, and for more infuriating content like this, check out this story about an employee who was ordered to come to work after quitting.

Entitled Karen Gets Called Out for Vaping on a Plane, Cue Karen Tantrum

This Karen knew exactly what she was doing and got exactly what she deserved. Vaping on a plane is obviously a big no-no and her poor attempts to conceal her vape are just embarrassing. Not that we condone breaking the rules, but if you're going to do it, do a better job, jeez!

This thread was posted to Reddit's r/F***YouKaren subreddit by u/Some_zealot, who was very much the savior in this situation. Not only did he call Karen out to the flight attendant, but also he glared at this woman for the entire flight. She also littered everywhere and smacked an elderly lady in the face with her luggage at the end of the flight (hopefully, that lady is ok…).

We expect that this Karen will not learn her lesson, so if any of you do end up on a plane with her, let's all learn from Richard and call her out when we see her poorly concealed vaping. It's not only rude and against the rules, but she's also spreading her little addiction onto everyone around her. For more Karen content, take a look at this post about another raging Karen at the airport, and keep scrolling below for this full story!

'Failure to comply [...] will result in disciplinary action': Viral thread shows workplace limiting employee's breaks to 'approved areas'

This image went viral today after it was posted to Reddit's r/antiwork community. The photo shows a notice that was posted in an apparent break room notifying workers of changes to policy regarding worker breaks. The changes prohibit workers from taking their breaks in their vehicles and require workers to instead take their breaks in "approved areas".

"Breaks and lunches will no longer be allowed to be taken in your vehicles." the notice reads. "Approved areas are the breakroom and picnic area out front. You can no longer be in the parking lot during work time without permission from your Supervisor.
Failure to comply with our safety rules will result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment."

Breaks are often the only time that many workers have to take a moment for themselves. They offer workers a chance to disconnect and dissociate for a few moments before they get back to the demanding rigors of their job. It seems absurd to impose requirements on this time, especially when the worker's breaks are unpaid. Some exhausted workers relish the chance to remove themselves entirely from their work environment; getting out and into your vehicle during your break is one of the things that allows you to take back a little control of your day.

Readers were outraged at these rules and let their thoughts be known in the comments. What are your thoughts on this?

Keep reading to see the photos and screenshots of the thread. For more like this check out a post from earlier this week where an employer blamed the 'lazy' community for their inability to find workers.

Unhinged 'Choosing Beggar' Wants to Set His Own Rate For Art Commission, Freaks Out When Told 'No'

Nothing in this world is free; if you want something, you're going to have to pay for it - somehow, in some way. Except, this isn't how the entitled folk of our planet see things - The world is theirs for the taking. And the rest of us? Well, we're just paid actors.

This is how the stage is set whenever we see these entitled "choosing beggars" trying to stupidly brute force their way into getting something that they haven't earned. Unfortunately, freelance artists and other contractors often have frequent encounters with these people in a time-wasting game of tug of war - and when time is money, exposure and monopoly money don't pay the bills.

Enter stage right - this f-ing guy. He wanted to commission a piece from this artist with detailed requests regarding pose and props. However, when the artist responded with their pricing, the guy was determined to set a price of his own. When rebuffed, he proceeded to fly off the handle.

Keep browsing with your eyes to see the screenshots of this thread, posted to Reddit's r/choosingbeggars community by the artist, Redditor u/sirhedgenald.

'I slammed the door in my uncle's face': Homophobic uncle asks for gay nephew to watch his kid, gets what he deserves

Imagine being gay and having a homophobic uncle turn his back on you, keep his kids physically away from you at family gatherings, and refuse to show up to your wedding…only to later come over unannounced to try and dump his kid on you for the day.

That's exactly what happened to this Redditor, who shared his story via this thread on Reddit's r/AmITheA**hole subreddit. Thankfully, as the title of this post suggests, the original poster turned what could have been a traumatizing experience into a triumphant one when he slammed the door in his uncle's face.

While the uncle's behavior here was nothing new, what was a bit more surprising here was the response from the Redditor's parents. His parents, who have historically always been supportive, voiced their concern that family is family and the Redditor should apologize for doing that, blah blah blah. Ok, here's the thing: when it comes to homophobic comments, it's simply not the responsibility of the VICTIM in this situation to shake it off, suck it up, and forgive hateful comments for the sake of the family. We know better in 2022: if these parents were truly supportive, they would fiercely defend their son. As for the uncle, let's be real here: anyone that performative with their homophobia most likely has a secret Grindr profile.

Karen Calls Animal Control on Corgi, Owner Sends Glitter Bomb, Karen Calls Cops

You don't know fear until you've stared down the feral fury of an untamed beast. That's the kind of fear this Karen experienced facing this truly fearsome corgi puppy. If you asked her, she would tell you that the experience was like encountering an enraged mother grizzly while hiking in the woods with a rack of barbecued ribs in your pack.
