Cats Who Were Caught In the Act

On general principle, cats have no respect for you or your things and they'll knock your full mug of coffee off the counter just to see what will happen. They'll sit on your laptop because it's warm and they'll throw up in your shoes because it's convenient. That doesn't mean they're inherently awful creatures. It's just part of owning one. Most cat owners are pretty certain that cats can feel genuine affection, while dog lovers typically argue that they're devoid of any conscience or feeling, just a bunch of furry little Patrick Batemans scurrying around your house, looking for the next thing to ruin.

The reality is probably something closer to "cats do have a sense of right and wrong, but at the same time they still don't really care." That doesn't make any of your houseplants or favorite mugs safer from being tipped onto the floor and utterly destroyed, but it's at least an explanation. It makes sense that there'd be a lot of evidence of cats and their crimes. Hey, they want food even when they have it. This point is driven home by the fact that cats probably talk like disparaged Victorian children.

35 Horrendous Stories About the Worst Things People Ever Witnessed at Weddings

When Bo_shuda's cousin got smashed at their uncle's wedding no one could find him anywhere. They thought something tragic might have happened to him. Thankfully it was just a classic button malfunction.

Meanwhile, an event manager witnessed a wedding party that started drinking at noon. By the time the ceremony was due to start the groom was so drunk that he couldn't stand. That wedding sounds like it must have been the most glorious shoddy show of all time.

Wait, over here. There are terrible and downright cruel speeches being aimed at the happy couple.

Over here again, we have a best man proposing to the maid of honor during his speech. Completely stealing the thunder from the bride and groom.

There is absolutely SO much going on in these stories it's hard to know where to start. From drunken best men to cheating groomsmen and all the way back again to thunder-stealing pregnant relatives. You're going to enjoy reading every one of these just as much as I did when I was putting this together.

Grab a cup of hot coffee and settle in. You're going to be reading for a while.

If you enjoy this kind of thing be sure to check out this Twitter thread about the craziest wedding fails.

25 Dad Jokes That Are Dangerously Dadly

We can't all be dads. There just aren't enough lawn mowers, polo shirts, terribly cut jeans and Bass Pro Shop hats in the world to go around. But we can all inhabit the spirit of dadlihood by engaging in absolutely awful puns during every awkward silence, car ride and funeral that we find ourselves present at. Dadness isn't necessarily a set of qualities, it's a state of mind. Sort of like attaining the state of Nirvana. The state of Nirvana being, of course, Washington state, where the band formed.

Of all the things dads contribute, some of the most memorable are slews of horribly wonderful puns in the form of devastating dad jokes. Yeah, they're kind of horrible but what sackful of puns isn't. It's best to take the decent ones with the godawful and just tip your hat to the great spirit of dads. "Our father," if you will.

Man we're good. Still got it.

Tumblr Thread: A Rundown On A Rad Rock Collection

Anyone nerding out over something like rocks gets a win in our book. Fair to say that this rocks.

It's a shame that rocks are associated with dullness or stupidity. The phrase "dumb as a rock" is likely never going away. And honestly, comparing our stupidest people to rocks isn't fair to rocks. Some rocks are absolutely brilliant. There are shiny rocks, rocks of all colors and properties. Even the way that certain rocks form is interesting! The world of rocks, or minerals if you're Hank from Breaking Bad, is massively nuanced and indulged in by an absolute boatload of people.

So here we have but an interested Tumblr user, gushing over their impeccable rock collection, with the added bonus of fun rock facts. Hey man, rocks are interesting and they deserve our attention. They're all around us, they're in our buildings, roads and phones. And they'll be here long after we're gone. And then we'll become rocks. So for those about to rock, we salute you.

Nervous Climber Accidentally Gives Cute Girl the Wrong Number After They Hit-It-Off at the Gym

The hero of our story, u/RollzRoiz, might have just found love at his climbing gym. When he hit it off with this climbing cutie he knew there was a chance that this might be the real deal. She asked him how the two of them were going to stay in touch and so, with nervous fingers, he entered his digits into her mobile device and calls himself so that he has her number too.

To his horror. When he arrived home to check his phone, he realized that he had no missed calls. He had given her the wrong number. u/RollzRoiz is beyond rage, pain, and sanity. Wondering when and if he is ever going to see his true love again.

But, just imagine what she's probably thinking right now. Our OP, u/RollzRoiz, is sweating bullets over here because he has seriously F'ed up and given her the wrong number. But, from her perspective, she has just been brutally "stood up" and been given a blatantly wrong number.

I think commenters are right and this guy should just find every excuse to live at the climbing gym until he runs into her again so that he can explain himself.

He's still better off than this guy who accidentally submitted a guide to modding adult content into Skyrim instead of his college essay.

Insane-Entitled Boss Asks Employee to Come Into Work During Vacation Because They Are "Short-Staffed"

"But we're SO short-staffed!"

Nothing like getting that dreaded phone call on your day off asking if you can come in to help out due to your employer's lack of proper planning and permanent refusal to roster enough people to cover. Those are the major aspects of retail and hospitality that you're glad to get away from.

Getting that text/phone call during your vacation is a whole new level of which I have never heard. Pretty bold move by this manager, especially given her response when she was contacted on her vacation.

Nonetheless, that's exactly what happened to u/Impossible-Head2121 at their job. This entitled boss expected them to show up regardless of the fact that they were on vacation. Who would have thought that this could ever be behavior that an employer would even consider?

Of course, the comments are quick to take u/Impossible-Head2121's side and offer them their support.

For more horrible bosses check out this guy who quit on the spot when he was asked "do you know my name" by the owner's son.

Red Flags To Look Out For In People

Everyone can live their own truth or whatever, but spend enough time alive and you start to notice personality traits that people can't stand. We could all gain something from spending our time around less manipulative or abusive people. See, the problem with people who lie a lot is that you can't really ever confirm or get them to admit that they're being manipulative. It's one of the things that keeps them from being found out. Ask a liar if they lie and they'll just lie some more. That's why it's important to simply know the signs so that you can come to that conclusion without going through the arduous process of making them admit something negative about themselves. Because remember, they won't. The only way to win is to not play the game.

At the same time, if we see ourselves doing these things it's a good chance to know if we're alienating our friends and coworkers. It's important to acknowledge yourself slipping into this kind of behavior, because people will actually tolerate it. That is, until they wise up and stop talking to you. We can dodge a lot of bullets by knowing what signs to look for in red flags for roommates or red flags at job interviews.

Shipping Company Denies Responsibility After Smashing Dying Mother's MacBook, Son-In-Law Takes Them to Court

Shipping companies and couriers…. One thing is for certain. No matter where you are in the world you have probably had an issue with one at some point and chances are they were absolutely useless at resolving the issue that THEY caused with your item.

Recently, I've had two such personal examples pop up. I ordered something online to be sent with a national shipping company via two-day delivery from the next city over. After two weeks the product still hadn't shown up. After three weeks the product still was marked as being "at the depot".

After the two-week mark, I was messaging the shipping company trying to figure out where my package was. They told me there were delays but it was clear it had been lost or ended up under someone's Christmas tree.

Three weeks pass. Then four. They still don't know where it is and won't admit to it.

After two and a half months they finally admitted that they had lost the package. Oh, and now I'd have to file for reimbursement.

Three weeks later and that process is still ongoing. Now stretching out to two and a half months from what was meant to be a two-day delivery.

____

Unfortunately, the national postal service isn't much better. Another package I had ordered on overnight delivery took over two weeks to arrive. They refused to respond to any inquiry before that point.

When I finally managed to get a hold of someone the customer service rep told me that my package had been marked as "undeliverable" despite no delivery ever being attempted. Someone just had too much to do and had stuck it in that pile where it had been sitting for two weeks.

____

But I digress. Shipping companies and couriers are absolutely useless. Depending on where you live it's possible your national postal service is too.

Scummy Scammer Neighbor Has Kids Shovel Woman's Driveway Without Asking, Demands Payment

A group of kids shows up on your front steps demanding an extorted contribution under coercion. What is this? The local mafia or something?

When u/beaversm26 heard a knock on her door while she was working from home she opened it to find a group of expectant neighborhood kids. They told her, to her surprise, that they had just shoveled her driveway. Promptly asking her for payment to the tune of $15 each for the 4 of them.

u/beaversm26 was stunned. She hadn't requested or approved the shoveling and felt that the cost was rather high. Plus, she and her husband had just shoveled the drive last night. So the only thing they could have shoveled was whatever had fallen overnight.

She declined payment, which summoned the second stage of the boss fight in the form of the children's mother descending in her insolent fury.

Imagine doing a job without being asked and then demanding payment for it. Maybe just ask first? Typically when a cute group of kids offers to do something for you like shovel snow or mow your lawn you're more than happy to let them do it for whatever fee they're charging.

When asking is such a reasonable thing to expect and so easy to do it's hard to see this scenario as anything other than scammer behavior and this mother is clearly teaching the kids a masterclass in it.

Blessed Images To Serve As A Reminder That Some Things Are Nice

While you were out being a misanthrope, other people were busy actually enjoying their lives. At least that's what we've heard they do when we're not around. Being cheerful isn't exactly an innate skill had by all, so man, sometimes you gotta outsource that crap. There's a time and a place for being miserable.

What we're trying to get at here is that it's important to be receptive to the finer points in life, many of them being blessed images to brighten up that big ol' day. Sure, we could also practice mindfulness or some garbage like that, but we're busy people dammit, and we want the happiness zapped directly into our skulls at quite literally light speed. Does that count as commodifying emotion? Probably, if you want to be a wet blanket about it.

All we know is that when we see a dog wearing a hat, it makes us feel nice for a second. So try competing with that.

Tumblr Gems To Chortle At With Merriment

Every corner of the internet has it's own very distinct type of weirdo. Honestly it's kinda like high school. There's a website for the jocks, the dorks, the preppy kids. Everything. And at its best Tumblr inhabits the space of "the kids who were willing to argue for three hours about if Batman and Scooby Doo are in the same universe." And to be fair, that was a lot of us.

There are people who will literally spend 8 hours researching and explaining away plot holes in Ratatouille completely oblivious to the fact that maybe we don't need to be overly critical of an animated movie where a Rat is a chef. But man, the deliberation is compelling. That along with extremely weird and specific stories, stupid facts and dumb drama are what make Tumblr the big giant waste of time that it is.

Could people be spending their time more wisely? Like learning a skill or spending time with people in real life? Probably, yeah. But they still don't. It is what it is. And here are some random and ridiculous tumblr gems to fight the clawing boredom.

Man Lies To Wife About Gummy Flavors For 13 Years, She Finds Out

It's extremely common for couples to pawn the bad or at least personally undesirable flavors of certain things onto each other. It's one of those universal benefits of being in a relationship. "I'll eat all the grape ones if you eat all the black licorice ones" is simply a sign of a strong union. And this husband and wife had that for years. Or at least the wife thought she did.

What this husband failed to mention for so long is that on one fateful day 13 years ago, he discovered that the green gummy bears that his wife thinks she hates are in fact strawberry flavored. In all that time she never even tasted one to make sure. This guy was reaping the spoils of candy fraud for over a decade. And only just recently, the wife actually read the back of the bag and made a discovery that completely rocked her world.

Who knows if they'll ever be able to get past this. Godspeed to them.

People Tell The Stories Of How They Got Banned From Places

There are a multitude of reasons a person might get kicked out of a place and asked never to return. Some of those reasons are valid. We've all had moments in restaurants or stores where someone was being way too obnoxious for their own good. Maybe they were actively trying to steal from the place, got caught and tried to lie about it. Or they just got all hopped up on goof juice and thought it would be a good idea to pull their pants off. Maybe they're just bored and have no reason to be there in the first place.

But often when people get kicked out of places, it's just because they're being too much fun, or they're having fun in a way that the powers that be don't understand or agree with. For example, bringing a watermelon to a bar and keeping it as a mascot. There aren't really any standard rules about doing that, unless you count the melon as outside food. But hey, if no one tries to eat the thing, there's a debate to be had over the melon's role.

Be the reason malicious or misunderstanding, the conditions of banishment are always at least interesting.

For some people who really should have been kicked out sooner, here are terrible houseguests that made themselves far too comfortable.

Unwise Guy Cries For Fresh Fries, Worker Maliciously Complies, Idiot Gets Surprise Cop Prize

There's nothing worse than when you're working foodservice and someone walks in the door right before you're closed to order food or otherwise manages to sneak in an order just before you're about to head home. It always seems to be on the night you have plans or need to study for an exam.

To make matters worse these people are almost always the most oblivious, self-centered, and otherwise uncaring a-holes around.

For those who are blessed with never having to work in food services. There is normally a routine as you're coming into closing time of shutting off machines, cleaning out the ones that need to be, and otherwise tidying and putting things away. These processes are usually dictated by management to reduce after-hours labor costs or are otherwise just necessities that can't happen every night after close.

Workers are never just sitting idle waiting for your sorry behind to wander in at the last minute and place an order.

Usually, that will mean that certain items are not available for order after a certain time but, when you're working for a chain that is "obsessed with their customers" you'll find yourself having to bend over backward and turning on machines that had already been cleaned for the evening. It's one of those painful things that adds to the uncertainty of knowing when your shift will end so you can finally go home and drown your sorrows.

So, when u/Ancient_Educator_76 was faced with this insane idiot who demanded "fresh fries", despite the fact that a fresh (and hopefully final) batch had just been placed in the frier, it's really hard to blame them for what took place afterward.

Luckily "Officer Pay it Forward" was there ready and waiting to give this loser further penance for his stupidity.

"Not My Job" Moments That Left The Hard Stuff To Someone Else

A group of philosophers once said "Late night, come home, work sucks, I know." And in that vein, we shan't be asked to go above and beyond for any reason. If it's not in the job description, it's by default, someone else's job. Want road lines painted? Sure thing, but don't expect them to be straight. That would require a "paint line straightener" position. Want a toilet installed? Can do all day every day. Just don't expect it to be connected to any plumbing. Congratulations on your new fashionable white chair that, by god, you better tell people isn't connected to plumbing before it's too late.

It's not that we're vindictive, horrible people. Well we are. We don't really like anything, we're petty, and we need to take a bath. But it's not like that's the prime motivation for misspelling stop signs and painting over light bulbs. It's just not my job, man.

For some more times workers lost the motivation to go above and beyond the barest of minimums, here are some more unprofessional "not my job" moments of failure.

Mean Girl Kicks Girl Out of Her Birthday Party, Stellar Mother Irate, Takes Back Presents

An important part of being a kid is learning that your actions have consequences. When you behave or treat someone poorly, poor things will happen to you.

These lessons classically condition us to behave well and treat others with the respect they are warranted. Hopefully, they will also teach us to respect ourselves and the way that others treat us too.

This was an important lesson that this girl hopefully learned when u/WovenAesthetic's mother took back their gift. Although, maybe that's optimistic and this birthday brat is still a mean girl to this day.

It all happened u/WovenAesthetic was invited to a birthday party for one of the girls who lived on her street. u/WovenAesthetic was a military child and moved around a lot so her parents thought that it would be important for her to keep in contact with other kids.

When u/WovenAesthetic was kicked out of the party by the birthday brat herself she went home confused and upset. That's when mom stepped in and marched over to the girl's house, taking back the gift that had been given.

Baby Boomer Coworker Quits After One Shift at Food Service Job, Shocked at the Low Pay for "All That Work"

They say that the only way to truly understand someone is to walk a mile in their shoes. I subscribe wholly to that. It is our duty to each other to seek to understand our differences in experience and consciousness. That understanding, however, is an asymptote that we will be infinitely approaching. We will never truly be cognizant of another's experience, for even should slip on their shoes and take a walk we shall never be able to fully embody them.

That walk, even if taken with the best of approaches and intentions, still takes place with our feet in their shoes. It doesn't teach us what their foot feels inside of that same shoe. How could we possibly know how that feels? Adding to that, how could we possibly know how they interpret that feeling?

The apparent futility of the exercise, when shone in the light of the inability to fully embody another, does not mean that it is one that is not worth undertaking. When we take that journey we expand ourselves and achieve a new perspective of understanding. Bettering ourselves through our attempts to empathize with another. Growing ever closer to the unachievable.

There are those around you who haven't once considered undertaking this process of understanding. The thought hasn't occurred to them. Chances are that they are uncomfortable with being confronted with the reality that is their small part in the larger puzzle of coalescence. They prefer to keep within the limitations of discernment that their blinders offer, comforted by the obstruction of their conscious isolation.

When someone is forced to take a walk in someone else's shoes for the first time, as this coworker was. They are often astounded by what they find. Sometimes the perspective that is thrust upon you is so jarring and brutal that the dissonance is too much to handle. Oftentimes people will choose to ignore and suppress the experience or find some other way of discrediting it in order to save their psyche.

In the coworker's case, at least it seems as if she has gained a new understanding.

Dude Ditches Wife In Economy Class, Wonders Why She's Mad

This guy and his wife scheduled a month long trip. While booking the tickets, he realized he could upgrade his seat to business class, get some extra legroom and have a peaceful 12 hour flight. What he failed to realize was that this is an excellent way of displaying to your wife that you'd jump at the first chance to not spend time with her on your vacation.

From the outside looking in, it's obviously not a terrific move. And from the inside looking in, it should have been pretty straightforward too. It took the moral philosophers and common-sense-havers of the internet to tell this dude exactly why his wife might be just a little upset about his escape attempt.

But most importantly, what made this guy think that it's a good idea to start off a vacation by pissing off his wife?

For another fun story of marital bliss, here's the tired dad who got caught eating cake in his car so he didn't have to share it with his family.

Tinder Lady Demands Dinner Date And Gets Hostile, Guy Dodges Bullet

Online dating is a by default a weird thing. Up until only very recently were so many people all expected to get along with complete strangers. And honestly, this exchange is in its own way, successful. These people both realized that they probably wouldn't get along in real life. So in a sense, it's a huge time saver for one person to go totally crazy before ever having to see them in person. And from her side of things, she doesn't have to see "the guy who insulted her IQ and didn't even offer dinner."

On a more fundamental note, it's important to understand that not everyone knows what you're thinking all the time. Everyone has slightly different expectations when it comes to dating, and it's important to acknowledge that if things don't go the way you expect them to, it's likely because the other person has a different idea of what constitutes proper etiquette. If you go around thinking that people's opinions, ideas and quirks are an assault on your character, you're going to spend a lot of time being upset. Like this person.

Boy is it nice that this kind of behavior isn't standard? Here are some glaring red flags that made people dip out of relationships.

Construction Workers Are Showing Off Their Fake "Skills" and "Pro Tips" On TikTok Right Now, Going Hilariously Viral

They take pride in their work! But also, after working such a physically and mentally demanding job, you need some time to joke around with some people who really get it.

The Dumbest Things People Heard Out Of Another Person's Mouth

None of us can say that we're always at our best. We've all had idiotic moments where we say something like "I have a million dollar idea, they should put wheels on garbage cans." But those moments are usually met with ridicule by our peers and the understanding that our brain just slipped on a mental banana peel. And that's fine.

Then there are the moments we have with people who are so reliably dumb, it makes us wonder if we're taking crazy pills. There are people on this planet who will look at you in the eyes and insist that turtles are just lizards that found a shell, like a hermit crab.

"Nah man, they're a whole different species," you say, trying to clarify.

"But you can't prove that it's not true" they say, completely missing the fact that you actually can.

It's hard to live in a world where people can say some of the dumbest things you've ever heard, but at the end of the day, at least we can ridicule their incompetence. It doesn't make them less stupid, but at least it gives us a sense of control over our own lives.

Twitter Thread Uncovers Insane Viral TikTok Subculture of Indian Farmers Pimping Out Their Tractors, Even Though the App Is Banned In India

Tractors covered in speakers, some running on solar energy, killer paint jobs, flashing lights, popping wheelies—like, whoa. These farmers are hella cool. Looks like India could ban the app, but couldn't ban tractor modifications' viral-worthiness.

People Share Blindly Obvious Signs They Missed That Someone Was Into Them

We've probably all had these moments of missed hints, overlooked cues, complete obliviousness. These things come hand in hand with the coy games of courtship that take place when you're just starting to feel all of "it" out.

And feeling "it" out? That's certainly a universal part of the human experience and the outré affair that is adolescence.

There's always that lingering doubt of "will they or won't they" and the wont to hide one's true desires in order to save face should they not return your favor.

Amidst all of that inexorable certainty; Feeling accepted, wanted, and loved is a universal desideratum for all of us.

When comedian David Drake took to Twitter to tackle this trending topic, the response was overwhelming. His tweet has received an unbelievable number of replies and almost 100k likes since it was posted.

There's a high amount of commiseration happening here amongst all of the stories of missed chances and detached connections. The years may go by but these experiences are clearly still keeping people up at night.

Flower Shop Reneges on Promised Funeral Arangements, Daughter's Boyfriend's Revenge Saves the Day

When OhThatAngela's friend's mother died they began making funeral arrangements.

They ordered flowers from the store recommended by the funeral home and ordered $1,400 worth of flowers from them.

Things went sideways when a big snowstorm hit. The funeral home said that all weekend deliveries would be pushed to Sunday. Except they didn't deliver Sunday, so the delivery was going to have to be on Monday instead.

Which meant no delivery in time for the funeral.

I have to say, this part is understandable. There were extenuating circumstances that forced the non-delivery.

The trouble really started when the friend called the flower delivery company back and asked if they could have their order refunded. They were told that, yes, they could get a refund. So the friend went and got flowers from another place.

That's when the store called her back and told her that they were going back on the offer for a refund and the daughter's boyfriend stepped in to save the day.

Irremediable Schism Forms as Dad Gives Grandma's House to Step-Son While She's Still Breathing, She Disinherits Him

An estranged father. A grandmother whose home had been wrongfully gifted. These two pieces set the stage for u/Broad_Mulberry6823's story regarding an irremediable schism within their family.

u/Broad_Mulberry6823 explains that they have been estranged from their absentee father since they were 15 years old, maintaining a relationship only with their fraternal grandmother on that side of the family.

u/Broad_Mulberry6823 would soon learn that their grandmother's house had been "gifted" by their father to the father's step-son. Effectively removing u/Broad_Mulberry6823 from any inheritance in favor of their stepchild.

The jig wasn't up yet. The grandmother, who was still sound of mind and very much alive, had cards yet to play. When she passed it was revealed that she had disinherited her son and left the house to u/Broad_Mulberry6823.

The step-brother had been undertaking renovations on a house that wasn't even legally theirs and was shocked to find themselves ousted from their new home.

u/Broad_Mulberry6823 is worried that they have done something wrong here but from where we're sitting they are in the clear. They have just fairly found their way into a freshly renovated house. Sucks for the stepbrother but that's up to the dad to rectify.

There are a few major miscalculations that stand out here. But none of them are on u/Broad_Mulberry6823's part. Why on earth would you "gift" a house to your stepson that you hadn't even inherited yet? And why on earth would you renovate and pour money into a property that you didn't own?

These two actions make utterly no sense to me. They owe any financial losses to their own poor decision-making.

Dude Turns Terrible Neighbor's Own Games Against Them, Takes Them On in All-Out Warfare

This neighborly relationship really devolved into a no-holds-barred border battle in a hurry. What's that old saying… "Keep your friends close and your enemies closer." What's closer than next door? The only thing left to do is invite them in and give them the spare room to sleep in at night.

When u/ChickenFashionShow and his partner moved into a new neighborhood, they were immediately introduced to the "block captain" and his wife. They immediately got really bad vibes from the couple and noticed a few red flags in the stories they told.

Sure enough, it didn't take long for the new neighbors to start making absurd demands and insane threats should those demands not be met. u/ChickenFashionShow made every attempt to ignore their behavior but the neighbors would soon make that impossible.

As the conflict began to escalate the warfare began to take on a different shape. Trees weren't safe or sacred. Colonies of feral cats were the ultimate weapon. Soon restraining orders would be filed and code violations would be issued.

Dumb Times Kids Proved That They're Strange Creatures

People say "the children are our future" as if it's a profound statement. But if you don't think the children are our future, all you're demonstrating is a complete lack of understanding of the basics of linear time. Of course the children are the future. How old do you think people get? So yes, obviously the children are our future. And if we keep filling their heads with meaningless and obvious platitudes like "the children are our future" then hoo boy they're not gonna be a very good future. We gotta teach these kids some math or something. As a species we've been trying to learn up the next generation as good as we can, but that doesn't happen overnight, and it comes with a lot of bumps in the road.

Without some guidance, these people would just sit there and eat coins until they couldn't move. They'd climb to the tops of radio towers and jump off while yelling "Fortnite!" They'd bother the rest of us on airplanes and they'd draw all over their faces with markers. Okay, they already do those things, but with some help they could stand to do it a little less. Here's some more proof that kids are basically another species.

Selfless Times People Took One For The Team

In these modern times of ours, it's really easy to assume that everyone is out for themselves. Probably the biggest reason to believe that is that some people clearly are out for themselves. Being the kind of person who will act selflessly actively puts you at a disadvantage when you know that insanely selfish people exist in your same social sphere. The thing is, that still doesn't stop people from acting selflessly. Most people will still take responsibility and help people who are in a jam because honestly, it makes people feel bad when they know they're doing the wrong thing and good when they know they're doing the right thing. It sounds dumb but in a lot of cases it's just as simple as that. We're creatures who understand the value of being there for the group, and that compulsion to do social good is often too strong to resist. I mean, unless you're an entitled person.

But still, we often find our friends, peers and even complete strangers in need of aid and more often than not we choose to help. Does that make us debt-seeking virtue hounds? Possibly sometimes. But it's more likely that it just makes us people. For some more wholesome tales of selflessness, here are wholesome things people did for the love of the game.

Bad Two Sentence Horror Stories That Are Chillingly Stupid

We all want to think we're clever. And we all get a few opportunities to do so. Every person gets maybe one or two good ones in every day, and we should be happy for that. Should everyone be a spooky two-sentence story writer? You be the judge.

For the most part, two sentence horror stories are a very cool writing exercise. A real good one can have an actually creepy surprise twist to it, and they're fun to read. And the bad ones? The bad ones are also fun to read, but more because you get to ask questions like "how in the world did the person writing this think it would be taken seriously?" or "What does this person think 'the hallway man' is?" Not sure if the authors are drunk, tired, or children, but there is some quality crap over at @bad2sentence, a twitter account created to document the most heinously, egregiously bad examples of two sentence horror. We all wish we could be authors, but hey, sometimes you just end up writing stuff for a viral internet culture company. You miss 100% of the shots you don't take.

Here are some more actually clever and creepy two sentence horror stories for those who got intrigued.

Safety Failures That OSHA Would Prefer Not Be A Thing

There are times when circumstances force us into making less-than-safe decisions. That said, a lot of times those circumstances are "my boss doesn't want to have to pay me overtime to finish this job correctly" or "my boss doesn't want to spend a hundred bucks to buy the right tool" or "my boss hurt his back and says I should go in the pipe. I asked him how he hurt his back and he said going in the pipe."

We won't deny, there is a mysterious satisfaction many of us get by completing a task in an unsafe way. It makes you feel more rugged. The inherent danger makes you feel tough and fearless rather than the reality, which is just "lucky." That feeling combined with a lack of proper tools and a boss calling you a diva for wanting safety gloves and you've got a wonderful opportunity to lose a finger.

And then there are the decisions that are straight up dumb. Like having exposed wires all over the place or not tying down a ton of loose crap on a flatbed before hitting the freeway. If you're gonna endanger someone, at least make that person yourself. Here are some misguided safety failures that OSHA would disapprove of.
