This off duty cop intervened like a true hero when he overheard a full-fledged douche mistreating his date. At one point it sounds like he heard him threaten the poor, terrified lady by telling her he knew where she lived cause he picked her up. The cop proceeded to handle the situation like a professional, and get the guy's information. After the date from hell dipped, the cop invited the shaken woman to sit down and finish her meal with his family.

It sounds like these golfers were lost in the sauce, and acting up in all kinds of ways. In this case, we've got a nice golf course ranger who was just trying to maintain some peace on the course. Unfortunately, one particular golfer didn't take too kindly to him telling them to stop drinking and stirring up a ruckus on the course. He handled the situation with a little pro revenge, and ended up getting them busted by a sheriff who was nearby.

This guy found himself in the prime position to have some fun with an obvious Facebook scammer after they reached out to him. It was very obvious from the first message that this was no ordinary conversation, and instead just the work of a scammer or maybe a bot. It's hard to say on this one. We would've loved to have seen a bit of an angrier reaction on the part of the scammer, but this is still pretty great. Especially the "sammichez" bit!

Landlords always seem to promise things like working dishwashers and hot water, but sometimes fall short of their ability to provide an adequate living situation in exchange for your cash. Rent is expensive too, so paying a whole lot to live in a place with a terrible landlord who doesn't fix anything is an absolute nightmare. When this woman's boyfriend was being taken advantage of, she stepped in and made it too expensive for the landlord to NOT get the washing machine fixed.

This guy is the definition of a deluded nice guy. When he finds out that he can't impose control over a very uncomfortable woman, he threatens to sue her. Sounds like someone never grew up and learned how the world works, and that sometimes you don't get what you want. If you thought you were muddling through a tough Wednesday, sit back and count your lucky stars that you're not the guy who threw away his life savings (that he kept in a shoe box) of $23K. Ouch.
Last Thursday this man from Ashland, Oregon accidentally threw away his life savings of $23K into the recycling bin. Upon realizing his dreadful mistake he immediately contacted Recology, which is a company that provides garbage service to over a million homes and businesses in Washington, Oregon, and California. The odds of anything shaking out in his favor from there were quite slim, but lo and behold he ended up getting the lucky break of his life.
"We take quite a bit of material every day so the odds of finding that are not much better than a needle in a haystack," said Linda Wise, general manager of the Samoa Resource Recovery Center operated by Recology.

Life is big and full of unforseen circumstances, so you're bound to see some unfortunate moments that could've gone better. Dad took a calm and calculated revenge on a cheap contractor who was trying to pull one over on him and other clients. He pulled off his revenge by putting liens down on different lots that the contractor had expressed interest in. From there the contractor was stonewalled from being able to pick up any more work on the lots, so he sued the dad and his family. Therein lies his biggest mistake. He should've just paid for the repairs that the dad asked him to pay, but instead he ended up losing $50K in court.

There's a lot in a name. Some stuff that should be taken more seriously like deep vein thrombosis or hurricane evacuation areas gets bogged down under a name more pleasant than it should be. Other things like particular food and games would sound less dangerous if the name was more accurate. Other stuff, particularly urinal cakes, could just use a much more fun update.

Police in Galveston, Texas issued an apology after their officers on horseback were seen leading a black man by rope through the streets on Saturday. The 43-year-old man Donald Neely was arrested for criminal trespassing after having been warned by the cops a few times.
Police claim that the two patrolmen didn't have any "malicious intent", and hadn't tied his hands with rope, but the picture circulating on news outlets suggests otherwise, and actually, it really just confirms that this was an unbelievable kind of cruel.
The attorney for Mr. Neely's family says that the man is homeless and bipolar. His family hadn't seen him for several years until the photo went viral online.

Amateur Gastroegyptologist Seamus Blackley came across what he very much hopes are isolated strains of yeast off a few 4,500 year old Egyptian pots and figured it would be a good idea to make some bread out of it. He even went as far to make the dough out of grain used around the time the yeast would have been active, since what we know as modern wheat didn't exist at the time. Anyway, he baked a loaf and was able to taste some (hopefully) authentic ancient bread.

It would take a herculean amount of willful ignorance not to notice that your significant other is leaving the house every time they need to use the bathroom, but to be fair, some couples are actually really, really terrible at communication.
