‘What screams bad parenting?’: 20+ hot takes on what not to do when you have kids

There are infinite ways to parent a child, which means there are also infinite mistakes to be made. Now, as someone who has no children whatsoever and has no plans to have any children any time soon, I'd say I'm uniquely qualified to be giving advice on this particular topic.

That being said, if you need another source of advice for whatever reason, look no further than the wild world of Reddit. This thread was posted to the infamous r/AskReddit subreddit, and let's just say that people had plenty to say about how to deal with screaming kids or children being straight-up annoying in public places. However, anyone who rolls their eyes at the parents of a screaming child on an airplane is probably not a parent themselves. Keep scrolling below for these parenting tips. Bungled benches and scary stairs: 20+ Hostile designs that will turn people away ASAP

There's an entire branch of architectural design that's made not to entice people, but to drive them away instead. It's called "hostile architecture," and you probably see it all the time without ever noticing. Especially if you live in a major city — these things are everywhere! Lots of benches are designed with handles in the middle, to prevent people from sleeping on them. Other spaces are designed to have spikes or other bumpy objects on top to prevent folks from having a seat. And then, we have other objects that were meant to be welcoming, but instead, turned out pretty wonky.

Check them out below! Then, check out the uniquely weird hot takes and fresh ideas from these big brained people on the internet.

'Your heat is too low': Guy's upstairs neighbor demands he turn up his thermostat to heat her apartment.

Living next to a bad neighbor will surely cause you a terrible existence. And when you're living in densely inhabited accommodation like an apartment building, you're rolling the dice many more times, resulting in a far greater chance of ending up near a complete psycho or entitled individual.

Redditor u/SilentJoe1986 shared this story to Reddit's r/EntitledPeople subreddit, telling of how their neighbor had insisted that they turn up their own thermostat so that the rising heat would heat the neighbor's apartment above them. The neighbor was angry that their heating bill had gone "way up" since u/SilentJoe1986 had moved into the apartment below them. The previous tenant was much more liberal with heating the apartment u/SilentJoe1986 now lived in, which had benefits for the upstairs neighbor's own heating bill.

While this demand was woefully entitled, this is (apparently) a thing in apartment buildings, with higher-up apartments being much warmer than those beneath—if commenters are to be believed.

Keep reading for the screenshots of this thread. For more, check out this neighbor who mowed their neighbor's lawn without asking and then sent her a bill.

'Corn cob customer': Sandwich shop employee explains their two most baffling customers ever

This flabbergasted sandwich shop employee wrote, "WTF is wrong with people?" as they described these two seriously strange customers.

You aren't yourself when you're hungry, as the saying goes. That's a big reason why it's terrible to work in the food industry. You're dealing with people who are starving, and the only thing standing between them and food is you. Even if you're not to blame for their food delays or wrong orders, these customers will still take their frustrations out on you. People who are hungry are truly terrible to interact with.

This person shared their experiences with several customers who had an ingenious method of pre-meal snacking. These people avoided being hangry by taking a bring-your-own-food approach to dining! It's very funny and so out of the blue, but as long as they didn't make a mess, there's really nothing wrong with their methods.

Then, read an AITA that took the internet by storm: this woman wonders if she's wrong for sneaking veggies into her picky BF's dinner.

‘That is my personal time’: Employee tells coworker she can’t stay late, gets caught having a solo picnic

Look, this lady doesn't seem like the best person in the world to work with, but she's also not wrong. It's not her fault that she's highly efficient at her job and often wraps up her duties on the early side.

When her coworker asked if she could stay a little late to help her out with finishing a project, this Redditor apologized and said she had other plans. Now, did she have other plans? No. Could the coworker have asked for that extra help a little earlier if she really wanted to make it to her daughter's recital on time? Probably, unless this was some kind of emergency. Now, when OP was caught leisurely reading in the park later that day, she did not have to tell her coworker that her personal time was more important than the daughter's recital. That might be true, but yikes! A bit harsh, much?

20+ Top Starter Packs That Embody Social Memes

For those who are unfamiliar with the term, 'starter pack', it's basically a collection of items and/or ideas that define a particular culture or activity, and its purpose is to poke fun at said collection of items. A bundle of stereotypes, a manual for a newbie, and a funny way to describe/make fun of something, Redditors love a good starter pack, which is where we got all of these social memes you'll find below.

An example of a starter pack would be a "hipster starter pack," featuring a vintage record player, thick-rimmed glasses (with or without color), and a fixed-gear bike that they don't actually ride. Because nothing says "I'm a nonconformist" like dressing like every other basic hipster out there. While starter packs can be humorous and lighthearted, they can also serve a pretty practical purpose, as they can be useful for people who are new to a particular interest/hobby, and are looking for guidance on how to get started.

Scroll down to check out some of the funniest ones. For more, here are some tone-deaf LinkedIn lunatics. If you hate the social playground as much as we do, you'll be sure to have a blast.

'AITA for wanting my sister to pay me back': Nephew loses $2000 scooter, parents refuse to pay

It stands to reason that if you lose or break something that isn't yours, you should have to replace it… There aren't many situations where this wouldn't be the case. And, yet, so many people have some sort of excuse or justification for why it's ok that they don't do so.

This Redditor (OP) shared their story to Reddit's r/AmItheA**hole subreddit, telling how their nephew lost their $2000 scooter while their sister's family stayed at their house. The nephew had constantly been asking to ride it and been repeatedly told in answer that they weren't to touch it. Still, they took the scooter out and, predictably, proceeded to lose it. Now the sister (nephew's mother) is refusing to replace it, complaining that the money would have to come out of her vacation fund. The OP argues that this further proves their point since vacation funding is a disposable income, and it's not like they'd be depriving their sister's family of the ability to afford food.

What's your verdict? Who is the a-hole here? Let us know.

'Screw your HOA': Anarchist teens outsmart their neighborhood's contemptuous rules, mocking them by maliciously complying to their technicalities

HOA stands for "Horribly Obnoxious Association" and they're the group of prying Karen's and Kevin's that make up the most outrageous rules for the neighborhood, simply to lord themselves over everybody, bolstering their superiority complex. Not every HOA is terrible, but for some suburban neighborhoods, they're the gestapo waiting for inhabitants to make simple mistakes so that they can send them warnings and fines and petty paperwork to file.

One high schooler fell victim to a classic HOA witch hunt and turned the tables on them completely in the only way a high schooler knows how: tomfoolery and mockery.

He had just driven his beater old car to a friend's house to hang out. Having just learned how to check his oil levels and feeling quite proud of it, the teenager popped the hood to show his friend how it's done. Little did they know, a spy for the HOA snapped a photo of them and reported it. The next day, the friend's mom received a note with a fine attached to it (including the photo) claiming that they had broken HOA rules by doing car repairs in the driveway.

Cue the anarchy.

The two teens and the mom came up with a plan to hoax the HOA. The boys set up several photoshoots of themselves every day, bringing their friends over to pop the hoods of their cars and simply look into the engine cavity. They were sure to have the entire area clear of tools and they were certain not to touch anything under the hood so that their plan could work flawlessly. The teens took their shirts off and kissed their beloved cars, because that was technically not a 'repair', right? Plus, they're teenaged boys, they had to take the mockery to a level 100.

Sure enough, the fines and the photos started rolling in.

At the next HOA meeting, the boys and the mom attended, bringing large photos of their engine boudoir photos, claiming that they were just taking pictures for a class. They pointed out to the board that they were technically not doing any repairs whatsoever, so per the laws of the HOA, they hadn't broken any rules.

Reluctantly, the board convened and dismissed all of the fines, only to find the boys continuing their s3xy car photoshoots long after the final board meeting– just to piss everybody off and rub their victory in their faces.

'JUST... DO... YOUR... JOB!': Furious Karen rampages and screams at a hardware store employee, then gets put in her place as he maliciously complies to her commands

Karens think that they have the right to stomp all over every minimum wage employee on this Earth, as if we're all just here to be their lackeys and serve them. Well well well, Karen, maybe think twice the next time you harass this one man working at a home improvement store, because you might get exactly what you ask for.

u/NotTheGoldenChild616 works in online order fulfillment for a home improvement store, so his role is to collect merch in the store, not to work with customers. In fact, he's not even supposed to interact much with clientele on the floor– he just gets what he needs and goes. Earlier this week, the same man put a feral Karen in her place.

As he was doing his job (collecting enormous pieces of sheet metal for an online order), he was approached/charged by a crazed looking woman. With her eyes fixed on him like a tracking beam, he knew he had no escape. Karen waved a loose screw in his face, presumably one that she brought in to the store to find a duplicate, and started demanding that he help her find its exact match.

Naturally taken aback by her aggressive approach, GoldenChild put on his best customer service voice and pointed out the screw/fastener aisle. That wasn't enough for the Karen, she wanted him to do it for her. She wanted him to literally go get the screw for her and dig through thousands, no MILLIONS, of fasteners to find the same style she had waggling in his face.

Sorry lady, that's not my job.

As she was yelling at him to "do his job", GoldenChild boiled over and finally decided to leave her hanging out in the wind– by going to do his actual job. He maliciously complied and went back to his online order fulfillment, leaving the Karen slack-jawed and alone holding her stupid, lonesome screw.

Entitled family takes theatre seats, gets karmic reward

Taking something that isn't yours—or is otherwise claimed or being used by another party—is generally a bad move. If you've ever considered doing this, maybe you should reconsider… or just go home and rethink your life. (You don't want to sell me death sticks…)

This family's behavior is eerily similar to that annoying child who would take your seat in class when you got up to do something and would refuse to move since you didn't call "dibs" or "tap-tap seat back." I think it's safe to say that we've now figured out who those children go on to become: entitled parents who raise more entitled and selfish children.

This theatre-goer shared an incident they witnessed in which an entitled family took another group's place, piling the other group's things in a seat in front of them. As infuriating as this is to imagine, it ended up going pretty well for the other group. Keep reading to see screenshots of this brilliant story. 'The audacity of some people is just insane': Entitled Karens flood the clientele of pet sitters and dog walkers, employees share their nightmarish stories

There are Karens no matter where you decide to work, but sometimes they flock to establishments more than others. For example, customer service gets the pleasure of constantly dealing with Karen tantrums. Also, jobs like pet sitting and dog walking surprisingly are filled to the brim with Karen customers. Apparently, according to pet sitters and dog walkers, the app Rover truly brings all the Karens into one place when looking for clientele. Many of these types of employees have flocked to Reddit to swap Karen clientele stories. Additionally, there are some Karens who try to pull some fast ones on unsuspecting people looking for pet sitting and/or walking too. So really, this line of business brings Karens together from every which way. Luckily, many of the dog walkers and pet sitters say that Rover has their backs when dealing with Karen clientele, because apparently, it happens a lot.

One trainer who also works through Rover for pet sitting and walking posted a conversation she had with a potential client on the app and it was just BURSTING with Karen energy. Others have left comments on the post sharing their own similar experiences.

'I tried to quit my job today and my boss told me no': Woman gives resignation and toxic boss blatantly ignores it, attempts lackluster counter-offer last minute but it's too late

Workplace culture might be changing with more woke millennials taking on managerial positions, but there are still completely toxic environments that make you want to quit immediately. For example, when you get a toxic boss who acts like a child and pretends you didn't just hand in your resignation later…

That is exactly what happened recently to one woman who posted about her experience on TikTok. She said she handed her boss her resignation letter and he took one look at it and simply said, "no." She was confused, because the way he said it portrayed no kind of a counter-offer, it just sounded like he was going to ignore the fact that she is quitting. The woman might have been confused, but that did not stop her from doing what she set out to do—especially since she already had a way better job lined up. So she carried on with her last two weeks, made sure all of her managers and coworkers knew that it was her last two weeks, and she would be gone by then. Eventually, in a last ditch effort, the manager gave her an extremely lackluster counter-offer, but this girl had already mentally checked out. She quickly declined and carried on with her two weeks and felt satisfied doing so. Her boss wouldn't even acknowledge her for those last two weeks, but she could care less.

'I was losing sleep and my mind': Noisy neighbors catch payback in the form of malicious compliance after years of gaslighting the resident next door

Dealing with noisy neighbors is the worst. There's always a risk of starting a superiority contest on who is more passive aggressive, who's louder, and who's more willing to lose sleep over a petty neighborhood battle. One man learned his lesson the hard way– After years of harassing his neighbor next door with booming music and surround sound movies at all hours of the night, she got payback.

u/living_the_dweam, a woman living in a duplex that shared a wall with the loud man, had endured several months of his booming music, which was competing with street noise, fans, and a lack of human decency. He would play tunes at all hours and refused to shut his doors or windows, meaning the sound poured directly into her home, disturbing her precious sleep.

Finally, after failed passive aggressive techniques and borderline begging, she brought him over so that they could test the equivalent noise coming from her apartment into his. In an attempt to keep his lifestyle unchanged, the loud man claimed that when her sound system was at its loudest, he heard nothing in his apartment.

But he didn't realize this woman was playing chess, not checkers.

After a few more agonizing months, she started to notice baby stuff arriving at his doorstep. Low and behold, 9 months later, he and his girlfriend welcomed a brand new baby into their home. The baby cried constantly, but the woman had the perfect way to drown out the noise– with her sound system.

She pulled and uno-reverse on her neighbor, playing her music as loud as she wanted. He claimed before that he couldn't hear it, but now was suddenly begging her to turn it down because he hadn't slept in months because of the baby. Now that it was his sleep in jeopardy, he seemed to have a change of heart when it came to acting neighborly and respectful about your noisiness.

The woman claims she'll adjust her sound settings soon… just as soon as her neighbor has learned his lesson with a taste of his own medicine.

20+ People who are so wrong, yet so confident about how incorrect they actually are

People on the internet have strong opinions! And they also aren't afraid to double down, even when they're completely wrong about the topic at hand.

There's a place for everyone on the internet — no matter what your interests are, you'll find others who are likeminded. However, that also leads to people getting stuck in feedback loops, or just being around people who are so closely aligned with their beliefs that they'll never admit when they're wrong. Then, when others outside of their circle insist they really, truly, are so wrong about something, they just don't believe it!

At least these people got called out for their faulty logic. Next up, this person had a workplace bully — so they reported him to HR.

'I reported him to HR and got him fired': Hardware tech accuses IT coworker of 'cheating the system'

This IT worker was tired of being insulted for no reason at all. In the story shared to r/pettyrevenge by u/Timely-Caterpillar88, the OP was working as a desktop tech, and often used the same ticketing system as their coworker. The coworker, "Jack," clearly thought that he was way smarter than the OP. From the way he talks down to the OP — and accuses the OP of things they didn't do. That's a serious misstep on Jack's part!

At least the OP did the right thing by bringing up the issue to HR. So many workplaces become incredibly toxic due to bullies like Jack. It hinders communication, and it makes it worse to stay at a company that may have other issues besides dealing with cranky coworkers. One commenter put it perfectly, saying, "I think you just debugged your department."

Next, this guy froze out his neighbor — all because the neighbor took this guy's hard-earned parking spot.

'AITA for posting a video of my girlfriend crashing her car?': Dude posts embarrassing video of GF and sells footage, friends and coworkers find the video

This guy has to know deep down that he's in the wrong here. People can tell themselves whatever story they want to hear, but seriously, in what universe could this guy be in the right? Selling footage of your girlfriend's car accident as "education material" for driving students without her consent is quite possibly the biggest red flag I've come across on the Internet in quite some time.

He shared his side of the story via this thread on Reddit's r/AmITheA**hole subreddit, and even with his heavily biased framing, the truth was pretty easy to detect. The guy was being an idiot and clearly thought this was funny, amusing content he could share around with zero consequences. Well, sir. You very well may have just lost your girlfriend. At the very least, this will always be a bump in the road of your relationship and one that certainly caused her to call her trust in you into question.

'Welcome to LinkedIn Lunatics': Top 20 Tone Deaf Tyrants

LinkedIn has recently become a tragic cringe-fest for people who take to it in order to feel better about themselves. Kind of like TikTok influencers, but less professional. The red flags are running rampant, and folk hold them up with tone-deaf pride. You're bound to read about their exaggerated achievements, and the funniest part is the cooperation from other LinkedIn profiles who cheer them on, saying things like 'Good job!', and 'Way to go!'. Y'know, the creative, innovative, personal comments you like to hear.

Now, that isn't to say there aren't a few perks to LinkedIn. It's a great place to broaden your social network, expand, search for a job, and develop your career. THAT BEING SAID: LinkedIn is still stupid. Does it make for some wild entertainment? Yes, it does. If you're finding yourself bored on a Friday night, just go to r/LinkedInLunatics, it will put life into perspective, and it's way better than a reality show.

Without further ado, scroll down and read the cringe for yourself. For more, here is another batch for you to enjoy.

'We closed [three] hours ago': Server lets couple on first date stay late, learns the hard way that they're woefully entitlted

Every retail or service person has learned the hard way why you don't make exceptions for customers and guests. It's always the customer you think is level-headed, sane, and "gets it" who ends up being a woefully entitled complainer, review bomber, or exceptionalist. These people will go feral on you and make your life a verifiable living hell for a few weeks until they've done the damage they're seeking and disappear into the void of their miserable existence to ruin someone else's day.

The commenters have the right of it here: Never under any exceptions should you ever remain alone with a customer—especially when handling cash. They're a stranger, of whom you have no prior knowledge, and you should never underestimate what someone is capable of. There's a reason most organizations have firm rules about this; it's incredibly important for staff safety.

This server/manager shared their story of completely underestimating a couple by letting them stay late, thinking that they would be cool about it. Others took to the comment section to share stories of their own in the ensuing thread. Keep reading and for more, check out these hollandaise hating Karens who tried to dine and dash.

'The kids confessed to throwing the trash': Neighborhood kids enact trashy revenge on local Karen

Rule number one of living in any neighborhood: don't become the enemy of all the town children! If you are that enemy, rest assured those little minions will stop at nothing to enrage you. That's exactly what happened to this Karen and Kevin, who managed to piss off everyone in the neighborhood. Even these kids' parents weren't too upset with their sabotage.

Now, what was their sabotage, you ask? Well, according to the Redditor's post, the neighborhood got together and volunteered to pick up trash around town. These kids had dumped much of said trash right on Kevin's property. It should be noted that Karen was not present for this encounter because she was literally locked up at the time. Meanwhile, Kevin threw a fit, only to be reprimanded by the town's code enforcer for not having an up-to-code residence. Keep scrolling below to see how folks responded in the comments!

20 YeeHaw-est Memes for Funny Cowboys and Cowgirls Who Need a Good Laugh This Weekend

We have recently been confronted with this lil tidbit that threw us for a loop: Apparently, Texans do not think they are Southern… Are we crazy for pausing at that belief? Texas is one of the most Southern places you can get geographically in the U.S., so how are you not Southern? Texans will say that Texas is it's own place, it's not the South, across the Mason-Dixon Line, or "this side of the Mississippi," it's just… Texas. And yet, they still claim the "yeehaw," BBQ, 10 gallon cowboy hats, snake skin cowboy boots, and all that good 'ole yeehaw life that the South and the Wild Wild West are so known for. We're not agreeing or disagreeing with Texans, we're just a little confused by it is all… But anyways, if you're a rootin' tootin' son of hootin' then you'll love these memes no matter if you're from the South, West, or just… Texas.

'You'll get paid in garlic': 10+ Top Entitled People, Karens, and Choosing Beggars Who Wanted Everything For Nothing

This world is jam-packed with all sorts of wonderful people: people who are empathetic and honest, generous and fair, responsible and humble. Unfortunately, the yin to that yang comes in the form of an onslaught of entitled, cruel and selfish people who want everything for nothing and everything for themselves. They care not about anyone or their negative impact on the society that they benefit from—like a leech that's had more than its fill, growing fat unnoticed on a swimmer's leg.

This is a collection of those persons" your entitled people, Karens, and choosing beggars who are busy making this world their big stupid oyster.

'You knew what you were getting into': 20+ Cringeworthy Parenting Fails

Something tells me these parents absolutely did NOT ask for this craziness! Look, I am the last person to talk to when it comes to parenting advice. That being said, I know enough to know that most parents simply cannot anticipate what the experience will actually be like.

No matter what kind of parent you are, there always seems to be a period of disillusionment from a picture-perfect vision of what having a family will look like versus what it actually looks like. If you thought it was going to just be cute Instagram photos, you were seriously misled. Because in reality, those Instagram photos are often accompanied by screaming, fighting, crying, sleeping, not sleeping, eating, bathroom drama, and your own daily breakdown. But don't take my word for it. Instead, keep scrolling for a look at these fresh and cringeworthy parenting fails from new parents. 'Fired for stealing jelly beans': 20+ Super strange reasons people got immediately fired from their jobs

The deli employee who got fired for eating all the skin off every single rotisserie chicken behind the counter is living the dream! What a glorious act of rebellion, probably never repeated twice, to eat the most delicious parts of the rotisserie chickens, and then become a living legend before getting (rightfully) canned. That person is super unhinged, as are numerous other people in the hilarious stories included below.

Every workplace has a story of "that one guy," who everyone knows did something strange and got caught in the act. While working fast food, I had a friend who got fired because they got in a verbal altercation with a customer, and the customer demanded they take the fight outside. This person was already hopping mad, and management couldn't stop them…so my manager weakly looked at them and asked them to take off their name tag before starting a physical fight. This person ripped off their name tag, slammed it on the counter, clocked out, and physically fought a customer in the parking lot. The cops were called, and that person got fired ASAP, but they were utterly legendary in our restaurant for their sheer boldness. As we watched from the drive-through window, we all knew that this person was "that one guy" at our place.

Check out the super strange reasons that these bosses had to let their workers go. Then, this guy bragged about a trashy prank he pulled as a youth, but ended up getting dragged in the comments.

'I will need a refund': Newly divorced woman tries to get money back from wedding photographer

Here is yet another fine example of beggars trying to be choosers! This woman used a photographer's services for her 2019 wedding and reached out to him four years later asking for a full refund. Why would she be suggesting that she deserves said refund, you ask? Well, looks like the lady got a divorce.

One has to wonder if she is going to apply the same logic to all the gifts she received from her wedding guests. I mean, now that she's divorced, shouldn't she technically "no longer" be needing them? Of course, Romeo the Photographer (a wonderful name, might I add!) refused to give her said refund as it's entirely not his fault that her marriage fell apart. As one person in the comments section humorously quipped, this divorcée's logic is like asking for a refund for someone's 16th birthday gift because they are now 17. Keep scrolling below for more great comparisons!

When you're done, take a look at these memorable job interview fails.

'You're probably getting paid less than the people hired after you': Experienced programmer getting paid less than fresh new hire sparks online discussion over pay

We might expect that experience, performance, and time in a role would lead us to an increased take-home pay… and that we might be earning more than the college graduate the company just hired—who has no experience and is still wet behind the ears. But, changes in company hiring policy resulting from fluctuations in the demands of the job market could very well mean that new hires are earning far more than you. Companies are often reluctant to increase the cost of existing labor—even in times of strong trade—but when it comes to attracting fresh talent to realize new projects, they splash out.

This was the topic of conversation that was sparked when an experienced software engineer shared an experience they had at their workplace on Reddit's r/antiwork subreddit. The engineer, Redditor u/darkpyro2, reported learning that their new coworker, who had no work experience and needed constant help and supervision, was earning substantially (almost %15) more than them. This is despite u/darkpyro2 being the top performer in their department. They shared how they have become frustrated and disillusioned, prompting others to share their own experiences in the comments.

Read on for selected responses from the ensuing thread, and visit the original Reddit thread via the attribution links. For more like this, check out this interviewer who awkwardly asked the person they were interviewing for a job.

'My boss decided to chow down on my meal': Employee calls boss witch, boss gets petty revenge by eating his lunch

The real question here is who had it coming: the boss or the employee? Sure, the boss crossed a line when she ate the Redditor's lunch and just said "oops" rather than apologizing and allowing her employee to go out and buy a new lunch. That's definitely not a good look.

However, the employee did sort of bury the lede here, didn't he? He called his boss a witch, which is obviously a controversial term with plenty of gendered implications. On top of that, he called her a witch after she implied at a work party that he had one too many drinks and shouldn't drive home. Honestly, that's not being a shady boss. That's being safe. Perhaps she should have made that comment in a less public way. I mean, this lady is clearly no saint. But if this encounter was the cause of the lunch-eating debacle, she very well may have been in the right at first.

'[She] thought this meant "we" won the money': Lotto winner's family insists on sharing her $50,000 prize, while the winner wants it all for her baby

Should you ever win the lottery, don't tell a soul until you lawyer up!

Winning the lottery changes people's lives, but whether that's for better or worse is up to the winner's money habits. This 35 year old woman beat the odds and won a big sum from a scratch off card. Since she's pregnant, she decided the $50,000 would go to her future baby, so that the child can have a great life in the future. However, that's not the only child in the picture here! The OP has a fiancé, and the fiancé has a 14 year old kid from another relationship.

The OP writes that since she's engaged to this guy, he and his daughter think they should get some of that sweet moolah. This is why you get a lawyer before telling anyone about a lottery win — there's no easy way to turn down the many people in your life who will want a slice of that lotto money once you announce it. It's too bad the OP told her family. Now, she either has to give them some of the money she meant to give to her unborn baby, or she has to deal with some angry family members.

Next, when a HOA jerk came around to insist a child get rid of her pet bunny, the neighbors shrugged and said, "Enjoy the bunnypocalypse."

'Petty revenge on my own truant son': Mom stages epic prank to force son to stop skipping school

A mother has to do what a mother has to do. This woman shared her story via this thread on Reddit's r/pettyrevenge subreddit, and let's just say that if your child has a bad habit of skipping school, you should definitely be taking notes right now.

This woman's son was a good student when he was in high school, but he just absolutely hated going. Meanwhile, his single mother had a full-time job and was at her wit's end after countless attempts to correct this behavior. In her state, parents of truant children could be subject to jail time, so this was getting very serious very quickly.

'I walked out': Mother keeps trying to set her kid up on dates against their will, cue dating fail

This mom needs to stay out of her kid's business! At this point, we are so beyond the "it's getting out of hand" level. It was only a matter of time before this Redditor snapped. They shared their story on Reddit's r/AmiTheA**hole subreddit after a major dating fail.

Let's start with the fact that OP tried to stomach these setups numerous times and had voiced to their mother that they had had enough of this on several occasions. Even having to go through that would have been too much for me. So when OP went out to dinner with family and realized their mother was actually setting them up on yet another date instead, well, let's just say the straw broke way more than just the camel's back!

We feel for Sam, the date, in this situation as well. He was set up too and didn't ask for this outcome. Keep scrolling below to see how people responded with regard to what OP should do next. For more stories like this, here's another post about a nepo baby's comeuppance in the workplace.

'Please let me know': Interviewer awkwardly asks candidate for a job

There are plenty of great opportunities to reach out to your network and enquire about open positions—with friends, family, and former colleagues all being solid possible leads. You can volunteer, attend industry events, utilize contacts through shared interests—even turn to social media. Heck, just about the only person you shouldn't reach out to for a job is a candidate you're supposed to be interviewing.

It's bold, for sure, but bound to land poorly. The interviewee already has so much going on in their mind and is so on edge trying to give the best impression that they're not going to believe what they're hearing when you make your proposal. The only thing it's going to do is signal an immediate red flag about working at the organization—who would want to work somewhere where the hiring managers are begging for jobs elsewhere?

Still, this job-seeker reported having exactly this happen. Redditor u/clrlmiller shared their story on Reddit's r/antiwork subreddit, telling the story of the biggest red flag they had ever seen. Keep reading to see some screen grabs of the Reddit thread below.
