Antiques Roadshow Memes To Appraise At A High Price

We like Antiques Roadshow as much as we like weird insane crap, and these Antiques Roadshow re-captions make perfect sense to us. Keaton Patti let some true magic fly out of his noggin and did the world a favor by giving us these alternate antiques. Also we regret to learn that it looks like we've used our space machine wrong.

If you are a responsible adult, like us, you probably have a lot on your plate. Between all the different and important aspects of life, it can be hard to find time for what really matters. And what really matters? Well, who has been there for you every time you went through a rough patch as a kid? Who did you stay up all night with on countless occasions throughout high school and college? That's right, it's just you and your gaming console through thick and thin. Let's enjoy this silly series of delectable video game memes for all of the gamers amongst us to relate to.

Survival Myths That Are Wrong And Potentially Fatal

There is a whole lot of bad advice out there. And not just financial or relationship advice. Literal survival advice. And that's the most basic thing. So here is some clarification to dispel some of the more popular survival myths that people like to propagate. And to increase your odds even more, here are some basic survival rules everyone should know.

Cheapskate Tries to Renegotiate Price of Goods on Pickup, Ends Up Paying More

Just, don't try to renegotiate the price of a used good sale on pickup. It has to be the most infuriating thing.

I'm a big cyclist and generally have more parts lying around than I know what to do with. Back when I was working at a bike shop I had some tires for sale on Facebook marketplace. I put them up at a great price and got tons of messages. The same as OP I just went with the first message because first come first serve.

The guy comes to collect the tires, recognizes me from the shop, and immediately starts trying to renegotiate the price "since I got them at a discount". He ended up going home without tires and the second person who messaged got a good deal.

Props to u/snsgrg for not putting up with this guy's BS and getting more money out of him in the end.

Twitter Baffled By Trix Cereal Ant Necromancy Phenomenon, Expert Show Up With Possible Explanations

Octopus/Caveman and his 5-year-old son had a real surprise when his son put some Trix cereal into his ant farm.

For some reason the presence of the cereal mysteriously caused the ants to start bringing out the corpses of their dead to stack on top of the Trix. Their absurd behavior has been puzzling Octopus/Caveman, his son, and the rest of Twitter. Some of the speculations are wild but there are some pretty solid and interesting explanations too.

For more Twitter extravagant nonsense check out this author who put a Michelin Star restaurant on blast and called it the "Most singularly awful meal of (her) life."

Nurse Forced to Call Police on Fiancé After He Steals Her Car Before Her Shift

This nurse, u/ThrowraCase35456, is probably better off with this guy being her ex-fiancé. He sounds like a belittling piece of human garbage. Especially considering the fact that he was told not to take her car and then still did it anyway just so he could go have drinks with the boys.

Based on u/ThrowraCase35456's comments that they posted further down the thread, it sounds like this guy has no respect for her or what she does. He treats her job as if it is an inconvenience to him and their relationship.

Time to walk away from this one.

Twitter Thread: Birds Named By People That Have Beef With Birds

Seriously, if you ever think you're having a tough morning/afternoon/evening, maybe, just maybe, you'll be able to find some temporary solace in knowing that there's literally a species of bird out there in this wild world that's been named the Go-Away Bird. We're ready for more of these.

Mad Lads Who Brought The Banter And Shenanigans

While the rest of us toil and fret over the humdrum of daily life, there are mad lads out there who don't give a dang. They'll do or say anything it takes to achieve their bold desires or just mess with people. They act on pure instinct, sometimes to the point of deceit. But at the end of the day, there are no bones about it. These mad lads played the game their way.

The Weirdest Facts People Know

What does it take to feel less dumb? It's something we all struggle with a lot. The short answer is "knowing things." But what things should we know? Upsetting facts that won't help anyone's mood? Maybe some totally useless facts? Maybe it's better to focus on the bright side and know some wholesome facts that are nice for a change. Whatever path we choose, there's always something interesting to know.

Rude Customer Has Fraudulent Reservations For Fake Floor, Gets Taken To Roof

It wasn't this customer's fault for getting duped into being sold a nonexistent hotel room. They didn't have much control over that. That said, she could have gotten less combative with the only person trying to help her. In the end, she had to accept the reality of her situation. For some more drama from the world of hotel management, here's a hotel guest who refused to be reasonable and got kicked out.

Tumblr Post About the Problems With Harry Potter Evokes Discussion Regarding Issues With the Series

Take off the rose-tinted glasses for a moment and take a look at Harry Potter with a critical eye.

The famed author of the Harry Potter series, Joanne Rowling, has been under fire for several years now for her repeated expression of her controversial views.

As time passes and these views garner more attention it prompts more and more "Potter Heads" to look back on the series with a critical eye. We've seen more and more discussion around the things that aren't so good about the series that might have gone over our heads when we were kids. Among other things that were socially passable in 1997-2007 that you certainly wouldn't get away with now.

This Tumblr post by a Harry Potter fan revealed what it's like to have the crushing realization and prompted some discussion around the topic when it was subsequently posted to Reddit.

Dumb and Clever Moments That Are Technically Right

In our quest to be right about everything, sometimes it's worth it to pull over and smell the roses of "technically accuracy." Sure, these moments, jokes and memes might not be factually correct, but they're close enough to get credit. When it's hard to be right, one might as well go for technical accuracy that isn't exactly wrong.

Cringe Moments That Haunt People To This Day

We've all had our low points. Those moments when judgment was terribly out of reach, and decisions were made, cringeworthy decisions, that go on to haunt us when we're just trying to catch a restful night's sleep. It's terrible how that happens. Maybe these people's moments of notable cringe will make you feel better about your own moments of profound cringe.

Guy Tests Out the "Olive Theory" on Tinder and Gets Unexpected Results

This girl is not afraid to lay it all out there. When asked about "The Olive Theory" by this guy on Tinder, she was quick to even ask her boyfriend, who she was cheating on, about the theory.

Well, at least she is a go-getter. Probably best to still swipe left on this one.

For more Tinder debauchery, check out these shameless Tinder moments.

Guy Shows Up to Interview 10 Minutes Early, Gets Told He's Not Being Interviewed "Because He Was Late", Reports Them to Corporate

What hope does your company possibly have when this idiot is running the interviews? Imagine trying to tell someone that they were late to an interview when you were the one who was late to an interview. The classic switcheroo!

Hopefully, this job seeker manages to find a better job elsewhere. It would be icing on the cake if they see the interviewer interviewing at their next interview!

This manager probably went to the same training school as the manager who fired the guy for taking a sip of his $0.99 can of tea while he was waiting to pay for it.

Facepalm Moments From The Virtuosos of Dumbness

Self-awareness is a skill, but there's nowhere to take lessons. These facepalm moments of human moronitude are a good reminder that most of us are playing with a full deck in the brain department, even if we don't feel like it sometimes. We may lock ourselves out of our houses from time to time, but at least we're not posting one star reviews of national parks complaining that the animals are loose. That's some facepalm-level behavior that we can keep a little bit of distance from, at least most of the time.

Girlfriend Ghosts After Bad Boyfriend Steals Her Credit Card and Spends Over $500 on Some Fresh Kicks

This guy sounds like a real piece of work. How on earth did he think that he was going to get away with that stunt? As if she wasn't going to miss the $500 on her card and then not be at all suspicious when the transaction was linked to his friend's address.

In no way is the girlfriend at fault for anything here. At this point, it's absolutely her right to get herself out of a situation where the person she is living with is actively stealing from her.

Time to make tracks. Just like the girl whose immature boyfriend wouldn't stop interrupting her during an interview.

Conflict Grows Between Sisters When the Elder Can't Pay For Her Sister's Grad School

This older sister has probably gone above and beyond in her service to her sister as a replacement for their parents. She has done things for her that some parents might even not do and that is something that she should be proud of. It is probably a little bit entitled of her sister to thing that she would continue to pay for her grad school for her when that is something that most parents do not do. But we can also understand that if the older sister is making THAT much money... then perhaps she could continue to pay.

Mother-In-Law Forcefully Grabs Grand-Baby From Its Mother, Then Demands Apology

These in laws need an attitude check. You probably shouldn't be grabbing a baby away from its mother. Especially when said mother is in the process of grieving the profound loss of the loss of a sibling.

Hubby needs to step up and support his wife and stand up to his parents. There is no reason that she should need to apology here. Even if her actions had been incorrect the circumstances would be understandable.

Blunderous Foibles of The English Language

If there's anything to learn from all the regrettable and dumb spelling fails we see on a daily basis, it's that absolutely no one is immune to really stupid mistakes when it comes to their mastery of the English language. Non-native speakers and people who have been speaking English their whole lives all succumb to the fun and frustration of the English language, and at this rate it looks like there's no way to stop it.

Funny Tumblr Gems of The Sparkling Variety

If you find yourself either bored or boring it would behoove you to indulge in some funny tweets and tumblr gems to quote later. Those quirkmongers of the internet are out to make brilliantly stupid observations whether you like it or not. Even just a small pocketful of shiny tumblr gems is enough to turn today's snooze fest into a snooze vest, which is more fashionable, breezier and therefore more exciting.

Life Hacks And Pro Tips To Get an Edge on Life

You never know when one of these could come in handy. Maybe someone has just drawn a giant wiener on your whiteboard in permanent marker and your boss is coming in. Maybe you're freezing and all you have is a match and a bunch of Fritos and crayons. Life pro tips can come in handy when you least expect. On the other side of things, here are some dumb and bad life pro tips to avoid.

Petty and Absurd Reasons People Refused to Date Someone

There are a lot of extremely good reasons to not date someone. It could be that the first date was just bador that they just throw up a lot of dating red flags. There are also much more absurd reasons. Maybe they say stupid things with complete seriousness. Maybe she shops at a store you don't like. Maybe he makes weird mouth sounds. Maybe she lives 5 minutes further away than you'd like. People come up with some Seinfeld-level reasons to refuse dating people, and they're spectacular.

Guy Retrains Terrible Roommate's Brain to Sleep Through Multiple Alarms When He Won't Stop Setting Several

This might be evil genius incarnate. This clever gentleman uses Pavlovian training techniques to train his roommate's brain to sleep through multiple alarms in the morning after he won't stop setting tons of them and keeping his roommate awake. This roommate sounds terrible in general. Maybe he has learned his lesson and will behave better in the future.

Woman Takes Back Gift After Mother-In-Law Rudely Rejects It, Gets Told That She "Ruined the Party"

The nerve of some people. If it were me... My mother-in-law would never be receiving a gift ever again after the initial incident. It's honestly baffling how someone could possibly be so entitled about something that is being given to them as a gift.

There's got to be other reasons why the husband was "unable to be present" at his mother's birthday. If I were him I'd make sure to have a scheduling conflict every year.

That in mind... It's cruel to send your wife in your place to your mother's birthday. Either you both go or no one goes.

This isn't the first we've seen of entitled in laws and one can imagine that it won't be the last.

Normal Things That People Find Super Weird At The Same Time

We live in a great big world with all of these features. And it doesn't take a whole lot of cognitive estrangement to realize that this world we live in has some very particular and off-the-wall junk that we totally take for granted. Like how your tongue is just in your mouth, like all the time. Or that a bath is like you making you-flavored soup. To really freak out the squares, here are completely legal but super weird things one can do.

Mom Confiscates Son's Gameboy as Punishment and Hides it.... For 18 Years

I feel like every family must have a story like this. If I had had it my way I would have been glued to my gameboy 24/7 when I was a wee lad. Obviously that made it a very suitable target for punishment when my grades slipped or I otherwise acted out.

Mom would take my Gameboy and hide it away in a cupboard or up on top of the fridge. I was able to reach this easily and would sneak it down for a few minutes of game time when she was distracted. The arms race evolved and Mom started hiding it in places I wouldn't guess rather than couldn't reach, as this mother did. This inevitably led to some occasions where Mom couldn't remember where she had put it. 18 years, however, is a whole new length of time.

As far as parenting goes, there's a whole lot of crazy stuff that people do. This is definitely more tame and harmless (although possibly still traumatising) than other parenting gaffs.

Florida Karen Assumes Dad Works At Grocery Store, Reality Check Ensues

Oh boy, what a wonderful tale coming right out of Florida. It sounds like this Florida Karen was just a little bit lost. So lost that she mistook what was very, very clearly a dad shopping around with his family for being a grocery store employee. All in all, it honestly sounds like a pretty humorous situation. If you want to keep the Karen drama going check out this story about a Karen mistakenly bullying a fellow customer, and then getting mocked.

Boss Demands Employee Take Part In Company Kart Race, Malicious Compliance Ensues

It sounds like this boss had all kinds of Ricky Bobby-inspired illusions of grandeur. Basically, he'd force all of his employees to pull up for this company spirit building activity, where they'd hop in some go karts and then be defeated by their boss on the track. Well, the boss definitely underestimated their new hire. It sounds like after the malicious compliance was successfully executed, that the employee got themselves off the hook for future mandatory kart race attendance.

Engineering Team Gets the Better of Their Management When They Start Enforcing "Strict Working Hours"

It's probably not a good idea to mess with a group of people who specialize in precision. Engineers tend to be pretty organized and when you bait them into putting that organization into malicious compliance you're going to regret it.

I bet their managers were rolling their eyes for every second in the minutes before and after work. As a manager how can you have a hope in heck of getting things how you wanted them when the entire team is technically complying to every letter of your demand.

My favorite type of MC is when an entire team of people band together for the greater good. Props to these guys.
