I just can not believe that an employer could stoop to such lows. It's one thing to maybe be suspicious in the first instance when you see an employee consuming product on the premises. Sure, maybe I can understand that. But to allow it to go this far and actually send the guy packing is just too much.

People's motivation to create things is sometimes stronger than their drive to make something tasteful of even useful. At heart, that's a good thing. But in practice, things can get weird. It usually goes one of two ways. For the problem solving pragmatist, there are low budget DIY solutions. And for the misguided artists, there are impressive creations of dubious taste.
This is absolute nightmare fuel. The kinda thing that you're constantly paranoid might happen at the most inopportune moment. Honestly, I don't know that I could have sat through the rest of the meeting after this. I would have just 'noped' right on out of there the moment I got the video to stop playing.
From there I would have laid tracks and moved towns, changed my name and you'd never hear from me again.

It's crazy how unbelievable everything is these days. You just can't take anything at face value. I never would have realized that these instagram "models" would have been taking their private jet photos on a prepared set. But after seeing it, everything makes sense and I'm ashamed I didn't realize it sooner.
I remember seeing a video last week about how fitness models shove pieces of foam into their leggings and yoga pants in order to increase their 'gains' and proportions before the photo even hits photoshop. I can't say I'm surprised... just disappointed in us.

If the company can't survive fair well emails and actually has to block people from their email accounts before their last day then I'd say that they have other much larger issues that they should be dealing with.

Anyone who has ever experimented with one of those radical sensory deprivation tanks or chilled out in a pitch black cave for a hot sec will know that your brain gets bored very quickly and starts to churn out some trippy hallucinations to keep itself preoccupied till you return to the land of light. It's just a bit of a disorienting thing to mull over. Maybe this is why some people in this weird universe insist that reality as we experience it is nothing more than our brains' best guesses at what's actually happening. Like a collective hallucination of sorts. Even if that's the case, we're still all in this hallucination together. So might as well be a kind human being and enjoy the ride while it lasts.
We're not smart people, but we also understand that when a statement doesn't make logical sense and a lot of people are laughing at it, that thing is probably a joke. And if you didn't get it at first, it's better to say nothing than it is to double down on your own terrible sense of humor. People aren't exactly huge funs of fun-stealing dullards who didn't get the joke.
This one's going to take a while to live down... but then and again there is absolutely the possibility that she is overthinking this. Still, it's the kind of thing that keeps you up at night as you're laying in bed and it's playing over and over and over in your head.
Seems like the guys are determined to be kinda and accepting towards her here but sometimes that can be even worse because just the very fact that you know they're treating you differently than they treat everyone else can be extremely isolating. Sounds like it's early days for this crew yet so it will only be a matter of time before these guys are just as comfortable ripping on her as they are on each other.

We all have moral codes that we say we're passionate about, but for some reason it's the smallest things that get people the most riled up. Call your coffee "an expresso" around the wrong person and they will cut you out of their life for being toxic. Mention on a date that you liked Jaws 2 and what was a perfectly fine night will end in seconds. If there's one thing that we can be certain about human nature, it's that people will defend their pettiest opinions to their last breath.
Maybe you should leave people alone to their personal time buddy? The introverted people of the world need that time to themselves in order to degauss from the constant interaction that our jobs often require. It really makes you realize how Squidward must have felt.

Names for babies and pets are completely fair game. You have some babies with very simple names, and some doggos with very intricate and complex names, it's about about parental preference.
Keeping this in mind, OP had picked out her puppy's name long before she discovered that her SIL was pregnant. And when SIL was asked what the baby's name would be, OP discovered that her brother an SIL had chosen none other but the name that she had already chosen for her puppy. And it's not like they didn't know, OP reveals that she told her brother and SIL about her puppy's name long before there was a baby involved.
