A lot of us might've made big and lofty plans for how to best dominate the first day of the new year. Unfortunately, just the same lot of us might've pushed ourselves to the point of pure exhaustion the previous night. Many folks have succumbed to a lazy day, and simply waiting to get after it until tomorrow.

This meme/prompt has been floating around for a little bit, but whenever folks are prompted to draw a duck, they respond, so it remains a fun exercise. What can people do with some orange bits and the assignment of duck drawing? A lot more than you'd think.

This woman asked the people of Reddit whether or not she was in the wrong for reporting a class clown of a co-worker who continued to tease her about her name. She took great offense to it, and decided to inform her supervisor about it. He ended up getting fired during the holidays as a result. So, was she in the wrong for running that back to the supervisor, or was her decision absolutely called for?

You better believe that people were more than ready to share their harrowing experiences when it came to their worst dates from the last decade. The world of dating is ripe for failures and unbelievably awkward moments to break out. These people lived to tell the tale of the kinds of dates they'd just as much never repeat in this lifetime.

Most people have a decent sense of self awareness, but sometimes entitled people have laughable boldness. It can be a potential employer asking for a full time "intern" to pay a dollar an hour, or an incompetent lowballer who demands a person's address to steal their bike. It's a wild world out their filled with entitled individuals and their unreasonable demands.

The truth stings! This parent lived to regret not listening to their kid's warning cries about hearing a bunch of sketchy buzzing from the attic. Fast forward to the dreadful experience of getting stung by hundreds of bees, and you've got one very painful lesson in the making.

It's time to put an end to the stirring debate over which seat is the best when taking the subway. New Yorkers are offering up their hot takes on the matter, while other Twitter users are putting their own comedic twists on which is the best seat in other scenarios.

Don't get too comfortable when things are going well, because life just might hit you hard with unfortunate failures and moments of chaos. Someone could fall through your roof, your car could get hit with a rogue coconut, and a dog could eat your shoes. There are limitless possibilities when it comes to unfortunate moments and chaos.

Someone on AskReddit asked for people to share those glorified career paths that are actually total nightmares. Take these people's advice and hard-earned life lessons about careers, so that you don't have to find yourself in the middle of a job that you utterly despise.

Kids may be learning still, but that doesn't mean the things they do aren't strange and idiotic. Kids are weird and dumb. That's just how they're gonna be, and you can't do much about it. I mean, you can help them learn from their mistakes or whatever, but you can also laugh at kids for being stupid and weird.

Someone on AskReddit asked for people to share their biggest online dating fails. Sounds like a whole lot of those dating apps are just designed to let people fail over and over again. What a strange time to be alive, and an even weirder time to try and find a suitable date.

When NHL player Anthony Beauvillier shot his shot with Anna Kendrick on Twitter, people were more than ready to try to wingman the guy. It ended up being a wave of different Twitter users thanking Beauvillier for all the imaginative charitable things he did for them.

Rob Gronkowski really committed to the bit. And a bit it definitely was. Still doesn't mean the resulting moment wasn't hilarious.

Quora users are wildly unpredictable. We can only hope that some of these questions were meant to be satirical. Otherwise, we're dealing with a whole bunch of humans that are terribly lost and misguided.

Someone on AskReddit asked for people to share their creepiest experiences with encountering "glitches" in the world. You know, those trippy moments when you find yourself questioning how what just happened could be real. Nothing beats those times when you dream that you wake up, but in reality you've been dreaming the whole time. Or is it all just a dream?

It's not good business practice to abuse the person you're trying to buy from, and it's even worse stealing practice to tell a dude you're gonna steal from him then ask for their address after the fact. There are entitled people out there who just think they can have stuff, like this entitled dad who wanted free art and childcare.

These people are part of the reason why some parents tell their kids to never get tattoos. We can't imagine that there was a ton of thought that went into some of these. Hell, maybe we're wrong though. Maybe these are the kinds of tattoos that these individuals dreamed of getting all along.

People often find after they're hired that their job description doesn't cover nearly as much as what they're actually expected to do. Already stretched to the limit with a dwindling and under-qualified staff, this guy was asked to "do his job" so that's exactly what he did. People have different responses to being bullied at work, like this employee who prank fires themselves or this guy who stood up to his boss who didn't allow sick days.

While no one expected Cats to be very good, it got some pretty funny and bad reviews basically right away. We didn't plan on seeing it and we don't necessarily care how much people like it, but we're just glad that people are getting creative with how much they disliked it.

Some of us have zero filter when it comes to telling complete strangers the most intimate parts of our lives. Maybe a fellow parent in the PTSA really wants to tell you about their recent bowel surgery. Maybe an old lady at a bus stop just can't help but regale you with stories of her horrible first husband. Sometimes we're just there when near-strangers try to get something off their chest, and we hear some wild stuff. Here are more people who walked in on weird stuff.

It doesn't get any cuter and more feel good than this. Twitter user @ParisZarcilla shared the kind of surreal story that has so much wholesome packed into it, it's almost too much to handle. The universe works in mysterious ways.

Not everyone's NYE went smoothly. This guy found himself in quite the predicament, after a little trip down to Mexico for the miles. Thankfully, the kindness of perfect strangers helped him out in a miraculous kind of way.

These choosing beggars just keep coming out of the woodwork. In this case, the "good friend" expects a pair of free custom sneakers. There really isn't any negotiating with that obnoxious level of entitlement. Sounds like all parties concerned would be best served going on their separate ways.

Someone on AskReddit asked for people to share those things that folks assume are healthy, while in fact they are nothing of the sort. Labels can be very deceptive. Many people could really benefit from doing some research of their own before assuming that a "nutrition bar" or health drink is actually good for them.
