It's been a big night for Cubs fan, who ended a 108-year losing streak to win the World Series against the Cleveland Indians. They're probably thirsty. Thirsty for old beer, that is.
Ending a streak of his own, this grandfather finally opened a beer that he put in the fridge 32 years ago with a mental note "slam this bad boy when the Cubs win the the World Series." Let's just say, nothing makes a man thristier than their team winning the Fall Classic — thirstier for old beer, that is.
The chickens came home to roost — or the Cubs came home to roost or something — last night, and he popped the top on this three-decade old Coors Banquet. Complete with pull-style tab can, the beer in question does not even fizz when he pours it into his proud Cubs mug. Reports say that the beer "smells like hell" and probably shouldn't be drunk.
The family heard those reports, too. It smelled so bad that they wouldn't even let him drink it. After all, why would anyone want to celebrate a World Series win — more than a century in the making — in the emergency room because their grandfather was so thirsty for old beer.
Be a winner, like the Cubs: Don't drink 30-year-old beer.

A redditor saw fit to translate scenes from the Star Wars Attack of the Clones aka 'Second Gathers: The Duplicate Offensive' to Chinese then back to English again. The results range from weird to oddly encapsulating.

If you'd told us that Johnny Depp would be starring in a Harry Potter spinoff series, and especially in light of the more recent domestic violence accusations, we'd have said, no way; but alas, here we are. The fans don't seem all too stoked about the news.

Hey, if you’re going to steal a cop car, why not share the experience with your friends?
Police arrested John Pinney, a Tulsa resident, who stole a cop car and streamed the joyride on Facebook Live on Monday night. Pinney's friends and followers got to join in the fun of stealing a patrol car, engaging in a high-speed police chase, and singing along to the radio without the added stress of breaking the law.
Oklahoma's News on 6 reports that Pinney simply walked up to the unlocked patrol car, opened the door, and took off.
News On 6 continues, "Tulsa police sergeant Steve Stoltz said a woman called 911 and told the dispatcher a man got into a police car near 5th and Denver, asked if she wanted a ride, then drove off when she said no."
Presumably, when this woman declined to be Pinney's audience, he turned to the officer's iPad, where he logged onto Facebook and proceeded to bring officers and followers on a 30-to-40-minute, 120-mile-per-hour car chase.
Stoltz "Liked" Pinney's approach to expediting police procedure.
"I would encourage every criminal out there to Facebook Live their crimes so that we can catch you a lot easier," said Stoltz. "Use that Facebook Live at your trial to get a better conviction."
According to News on 6, Pinney was arrested "on nine complaints, including eluding, resisting arrest, and possession of a firearm by a felon." Thanks to Facebook Live, we’ll be able to relieve these crimes over and over again.

Life comes at you fast, and for Kevin Diepenbrock, 41, maybe a little too fast.
After crashing his motorcycle on a treacherous stretch of the Tennessee highway known as "The Dragon," Diepenbrock found himself just inches from death. He had no food, no water, and no cell service. Laying motionless in a ditch just off the highway with two punctured lungs, a dozen broken ribs, and several spinal fractures, he took out his phone to make one, final statement. Recording his last words, Diepenbrock sent his love to his wife, parents, and his especially large pack of dogs.
Stopping to take a sip of water, a passing motorist found him nearly 30 hours later. At the hospital, Diepenbrock decided to delete the videos but later retrieved them from the cloud to share them with the world.
via The Knoxville News Sentinel
The Knoxville News Sentinel recounts the crash that left Diepenbrock stranded and fellow Philip Polito dead:
"On Oct. 15, Diepenbrock and Philip Polito, his riding companion and co-worker at a natural gas plant near Philadelphia, Pa., tumbled more than 100 feet down a rocky embankment after their motorcycles collided on a notorious stretch of Highway 129 near mile marker 4 called 'The Dragon.'"
"Polito, 29, of Perryville, Mo., was killed in the crash, and the 41-year-old Diepenbrock was flung out of sight from the motorists who get a thrill from the treacherous road's sharp curves and scenic views."
A harrowing experience for sure, but how many people get to watch their final words go viral?
