Ciara wore a fancy dress to sing the anthem before the College Football Playoff Championship game on Monday night. It seems like a pretty normal situation but Bonnie Bernstein of Campus Insiders had a problem with Ciara's choice of clothing. She called her out, using the classic "think of the children" as justification for telling her to "cover up". The response to her Tweet has been overwhelmingly negative.

The original photos received with disapproval from Mr. Pugh:
Just cause you're on the run, doesn't mean you stop caring about the looks--good and bad.
"This photo was sent to us by Mr Pugh himself," Lima Police Department wrote in a post.
"Man, they just did me wrong," Mr Pugh disclosed while on an Ohio radio station about why he sent the selfie in the first place.
"They put a picture out that made me look like I was a Thundercat... or James Brown on the run. I can't do that.
Fans of this madness even banded together to pitch their efforts together, and start up a Facebook page for Pugh.

So it turns out that insects--specifically Sensei Mantis--might be useful for better understanding 3D vision. Dr. Jenny Read of Newcastle University, a professor of vision science, confirms:
"Despite their minute brains, mantises are sophisticated visual hunters which can capture prey with terrifying efficiency. We can learn a lot by studying how they perceive the world," she said. "Better understanding of their simpler processing systems helps us understand how 3D vision evolved, and could lead to possible new algorithms for 3D depth perception in computers."
Short and skinny of it--that's awesome.
That was kind of chill as well.

Michelle Dobyne was having a quiet morning making breakfast when she discovered her apartment building was on fire. Speaking to the local news, she described her reaction:
"I got my three kids and we bounced out. Nuh uh, we ain't gon be in no fire, not today!"
Dobyne and the rest of the residents are okay, but will be without power for at least the rest of the week, since the building's electrical panels were destroyed in the fire. If any of the other residents are like Dobyne though, they'll surely be in good spirits.

Mountain lions shouldn't look like this.
This beast of a species at a glance appears to have teeth that are straight up growing out the top it's head.
Scientists are all at once baffled, befuddled, and utterly torn over what this might mean; perhaps some sort of misplaced and abandoned alien species? Who's to say?

The busking musician detailed the encounter and his cause:
I went out busking in Leeds on New Year's Eve and, after a while, was joined by a homeless man in a wheelchair who asked if he could sing with me. As a busker, I spend a lot of time on the streets and had seen this man many times over the years, but didn't know he was singer, and, as the years had gone by, his health and wellbeing seemed to have worsened a great deal. We jammed out a version of 'Summertime' and I was blown away by his voice so I stopped a passerby and asked them to capture the moment on my camera phone and then uploaded the video to my Facebook page where it quickly went viral as thousands of people shared it.
My spontaneous street jam with Bernard Davey was a soul-affirming, enriching experience which summed up everything I love about street culture. The streets are full of wonderful surprises and stories. I hope Bernard's amazing improvised version of 'Summertime' helps people to remember not to judge people they see on the streets according to their appearances, but to always look below the surface appearance and find the person underneath.
Moments like these are why I founded the Keep Streets Live Campaign, a not for profit organisation which advocates for public spaces which are open to informal offerings of art and music and campaigns against the criminalisation of homelessness and street culture.
In addition, there are many wonderful charities that work with homeless and vulnerably housed including Inn Churches which provides emergency accommodation for the homeless in churches during the cold winter months and intercepts food waste to give to the hungry. I am doing a sponsored sober year in 2016 to raise funds for them and you can find out more and make a donation.

Imgur user dani847661 was running out of time find a secret Santa gift and improvised this cookbook. There is a REAL 1998 Star Wars cookbook out there somewhere but dani847661 said they didn't have time to order it so they made their own from scratch. Sure there are some spelling errors but it's full of delicious recipes and Star Wars puns, what more could you ask for from a secret Santa?

Content warning: no weed here, but there is a young lad furiously flexing his cursing vocabulary.
This kid got trolled hard by a drug dealer. He bought what he thought was five bags of weed, which turned out to be four bags of grass and one bag of leaves. I know your grandma probably calls it grass, but that doesn't mean your pot should look like actual grass, dude. I guess that's what happens when you buy bud from someone on Instagram.

The survey concludes something seemingly arbitrary as a food emoji icon can symbolize body parts or sex, after determining that Instagram banned the eggplant emoji.
The ban was due to its search algorithm revealing the emoji was linked to 'lewd' photos of men and their intimate 'eggplant' parts.
The survey, which polled 5,675 singles, indicated 40% of people who think sexy thoughts more than once a day are apt to frost their texts with a whole lot of emojis; while the more docile of the bunch (once a day sexy thoughts) were proven less likely to drop an emoji.
Basically if someone texts you an emoji, you're totally in. Not really though.
"[Emoji users] want to give their texts more personality," Helen Fisher, the genius brainiac behind the study published earlier this year, told Time Magazine. "Emoji users don't just have more sex, they go on more dates and they are two times more likely to get married."
